All-New Opel Astra Launches with Premium LED Light from ZKW

All-New Opel Astra: IntelliLux LED Pixel Light

Intelligent, high-resolution Pixel Lite ensures better road safety and comfort ZKW installed the first version of the pioneering LED Matrix light in the Opel Astra in 2015. Now, the next stage of development is ready to launch: With a total of 168 LED elements (84 per headlamp), IntelliLux Pixel Lite developed by the Wieselburg lighting specialists delivers a precise and fluid lighting gradient tailored to the specific situation at hand, without creating glare for other road users. Light module and electronic components are integrated into the extra-slim front headlamps. IntelliLux precisely cuts out oncoming vehicles in just milliseconds. Other areas continue to be illuminated with full high beams. “Intelligent Pixel Lite used in the new Opel Astra is setting new standards in the compact class. It provides adaptive support to the driver, ensures driving comfort, and delivers more road safety” explains Oliver Schubert, CEO of the ZKW Group.

With a total of 168 LED elements (84 per headlamp) the compact class challenger ensures a precise and fluid light pattern at all times, without dazzling other road users

High-resolution premium lighting

IntelliLux LED Pixel Lite, which is already popular on the Opel models Insignia and Grandland, is now celebrating its debut on the all-new Opel Astra. ZKW has significantly improved and further developed the previous Matrix light. New IntelliLux has more, smaller segments, allowing it to achieve higher resolution and lighting quality: Compared to the previous Matrix system, new Pixel Light has not only vertical, but also horizontal segments for both high and low beams. Technology makes it possible to illuminate the gap created when masking the oncoming vehicle or vehicles traveling in front of the reference car. Other road users are recorded by a front camera, the signals from which control the LED module in the headlamp.

Elegant design, Made in Austria

The “wing” design is a striking feature on the daytime running lights of the all-new Opel Astra – it uses specially developed micro-optics to deliver a homogeneous appearance, appearing evenly white when switched off. Exterior chrome plated designer panel underscores the side line of the Opel Astra, which travels over the main headlamp and the grill, and throughout the entire front of the vehicle. IntelliLux was developed at ZKW’s headquarters in Wieselburg. Pixel Lite controller was created through close collaboration between the Wieselburg engineers and the ZKW electronics plant in Wiener Neustadt, where the control modules are also produced.  IntelliLux LED Pixel Lite is manufactured at ZKW’s Slovakian location in Krusovce. in addition to the IntelliLux for the Opel Astra, ZKW also delivers the Opel Insignia headlamps.

Stellantis prepares introduction of the second shift at the Rüsselsheim plant

  • Stellantis is preparing the introduction of a second shift in its production facility in Rüsselsheim am Main
  • This will create around 300 additional jobs in assembly and finishing this year

Organization of the second shift is made possible by the previously announced production of new models, the production of which will start this year in Rüsselsheim: From summer, a model of the French premium brand will be produced at the site with the new DS 4 and the next generation of the Opel Astra later in the year.

Right from the start of production, both models, which are based on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular) platform, will also be available as hybrids, making Rüsselsheim a future-proof production location for electrified vehicles. New positions are to be filled internally with employees from areas that are underutilized.

“Second shift is scheduled to start in autumn and is an important step in leading the Rüsselsheim plant into the future. We offer interested employees good prospects, because with the new electrified models, the plant will also be well utilized in the long term, ”said plant manager Michael Lewald. Opel Insignia, the flagship of the traditional German brand, is currently being produced at the Rüsselsheim plant.

  • On sale now: New diesel and petrol drivetrain combinations
  • Euro 6d across the board: Strict emissions standard met
  • Optimal: New Opel Insignia among most fuel-efficient cars in its segment

New Opel Insignia Grand Sport and Opel Insignia Sports Tourer

Opel is adding a new petrol engine to the powertrain portfolio of the new Insignia Grand Sport limousine and the Insignia Sports Tourer estate. New power unit produces 125 kW (170 hp) and already develops maximum torque of 350 Newton metres at only 1,500 rpm (Grand Sport fuel consumption in the NEDC 1 cycle: combined 6.0-6.4l/100km, 150-145g/km CO2). Opel offers the four-cylinder engine in combination with a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. In this configuration, the Opel flagship accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 8.7 seconds. Maximum speed is 228km/h. New Opel Insignia 2.0 Turbo is already available in Elegance trim at a starting price of €38,919 (all prices RRP including VAT in Germany).

Also new is the combination of 2.0 diesel, eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. With 128 kW (174 hp) and 380 Nm of torque, Opel Insignia 2.0 Diesel offers a calm, confident performance (Grand Sport fuel consumption in the NEDC 1 cycle: combined 5.1l/100km, 135 g/km CO2). State-of-the-art powertrains for maximum fun-to-drive

All three and four-cylinder engines belong to a new generation of state-of-the-art power units. The 1.5-liter diesel with 90 kW (122 hp) forms the basis (see table below for all consumption figures) at start of sales, another entry-level petrol engine will follow in the coming months. Compared to its predecessor, NEDC 1 fuel consumption is up to 18 percent lower. Three-cylinder units are up to 50 kilograms lighter than their predecessors in the previous model. Above them in the Insignia range come 2.0 petrol engines with 147 kW (200 hp) and 169 kW (230 hp) in the GSi. 2.0-liter petrol units are also the first Opel engines with cylinder deactivation. Unless the driver needs high power, the variable camshaft control deactivates two cylinders and lowers fuel consumption. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel (127 kW/174 hp) completes the portfolio.

New low-friction gearboxes further reduce fuel consumption and at the same time increase comfort. Insignia customers can choose from a six-speed manual gearbox, an eight or nine-speed automatic and a particularly economical, stepless transmission, which will be available in the course of the year.

New Opel Insignia GSi

New Opel Insignia celebrates its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show (January 9-19). GSi sprints into the New Year with a new 169 kW (230 hp) 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine and new nine-speed automatic transmission, as well as an electro-hydraulic brake booster, FlexRide mechatronic suspension and Twinster four-wheel drive with torque vectoring (fuel consumption limousine according to NEDC 1: urban 8.9 l/100 km, extra-urban 5.8 l/100 km, combined 6.9 l/100 km, 161 g/km CO2, fuel consumption according to WLTP 2: combined 8.5-8.3 l/100 km, 198-193 g / km CO2).

Up to 18 per cent lower fuel consumption: New Opel Insignia in top form

New Opel Insignia range
Flagship of the tradition-rich German brand debuts as GSi, Grand Sport and Sports Tourer with newly developed, extra-efficient petrol and diesel engines. In addition, new low-friction gearboxes further reduce fuel consumption and at the same time increase comfort. Insignia customers get either a six-speed manual gearbox, a particularly economical, stepless transmission or an eight or nine-speed automatic. New Opel Insignia’s aerodynamics are further improved by an active full-face shutter. Compared to its predecessor, NEDC fuel consumption is lowered by up to 18 percent, while CO2 emissions are as low as around 100g/km. New Opel Insignia is therefore one of the most fuel-efficient cars in its segment.

Opel designers have further improved the Insignia’s high-quality interior. Ergonomically certified AGR seats with many comfort functions are now available in various fabric and leather upholsteries, as well as in Alcantara. For those who value comfort and a classic appearance, the Elegance and Ultimate equipment ranges are the perfect choice. Enthusiastic drivers will be thrilled by the new Insignia GS Line and GSi.

In addition, there are state-of-the-art safety and assistance systems, most notably the new adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel Light. It now has a total of 168 LED elements – 84 per headlamp! They provide the Insignia driver with ultra-slim headlamps as well as the best vision and react even faster and more precisely than before, without dazzling anyone in front or oncoming traffic.

“We are proud of our new flagship. Opel Insignia looks fantastic, featuring class-leading technologies such as the IntelliLux LED Pixel Light, fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines, adaptive FlexRide suspension and outstanding wellness seats. GSi is again the top model in the series and as engaging to drive as a real sports car”, said Opel CEO, Michael Lohscheller.

High grip and agility for maximum fun-to-drive

New Opel Insignia GSi is for those who appreciate the really special. The sporty four-wheel drive with torque vectoring is unique in this segment. In the AWD mode, two clutches replace a conventional rear differential and deliver the perfect power transfer per wheel in every driving situation. With this technology, the new Opel Insignia GSi is more agile in curves, offers the best cornering and stands out with excellent traction. For an even more active driving experience, the new nine-speed automatic transmission can be operated by the paddles on the steering wheel.

Opel Insignia GSi got its finishing touches on the legendary Nürburgring “Nordschleife”. The dynamically tuned chassis offers extremely high grip. Powerful Brembo four-piston brakes (with red calipers) and the direct steering have been further improved.

With its electro-hydraulic brake booster, the Insignia is already today a platform for technology that will be required for automated driving in the future. Integrated “eBoost” system is a component for “braking by wire”, which dispenses with the need for separate ABS/ESP modules, vacuum lines and vacuum pumps etc. As vacuum is generated by an electric motor instead of the engine, fuel consumption is further reduced. Pressure is built up quicker and brake feel is improved. Also, when ABS is activated, “eBoost” operates more quietly than on conventional braking systems.

Opel Insignia GSi comes as standard with mechatronic FlexRide suspension, which adapts shock absorbers and steering in fractions of a second. In addition, FlexRide changes the characteristic of the accelerator as well as the shift-points of the nine-speed automatic transmission. Driver can choose between the driving modes Standard, Tour, Sport and – exclusively for the GSi – Competition.

New engines and transmissions: Frugal yet lively

With the new Insignia, Opel has reduced the complexity and at the same time improved the offer for the customer. While the predecessor had petrol and diesel engines from three different engine families, all three and four-cylinder engines of the now belong to a single new generation. The 1.4-liter petrol engine with 107 kW (145 hp) and the 1.5 liter diesel with 90 kW (122 hp) form the basis (see table for all consumption figures).

Three-cylinder units are up to 50 kilograms lighter than their predecessors in the previous model and are also used in the new Opel Astra. Above them in the Insignia range come a 2.0 liter four-cylinder diesel (introduction later this year) and a 2.0 petrol engine with 147 kW (200 hp) – 169 kW (230 hp) in the case of the GSi. 2.0 liter petrol units are also the first Opel engines with cylinder deactivation. Unless the driver needs high power, variable camshaft control deactivates two cylinders and thus significantly reduces fuel consumption.

New Opel Insignia’s full-face active shutter further improves fuel efficiency by closing the top as well as the bottom of the grille. By combining thermal, electrical and aerodynamic considerations, intelligent control strategies for opening and closing the upper and lower portions of the grille can enable highly efficient driving under a variety of real-life conditions. The full-face shutter also delivers thermal advantages by delaying cooling down after switching off the engine, or by accelerating the engine warm-up after a cold start, which especially in winter provides significant benefits in fuel consumption and cabin heating comfort.

IntelliLux LED Pixel Light: precision with 168 LEDs

New Opel Insignia is equipped exclusively with full LED light systems, from highly energy-efficient LED headlamps to the new adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel Light, which features a class-leading total of 168 LED elements, instead of the previous 32. The main beam is adjusted seamlessly in milliseconds by two control units – one connected to the front camera and the other in the headlamp. The high number of continuously reacting LED elements results in a seamless adaptation of the light beam. Illuminated area is larger than before, approaching or preceding traffic is “cut out” more precisely. Result is optimum vision in every situation, without glare for other road users.

New Opel Insignia GSi - IntelliLux LED Pixel Light
Opel has further improved the autobahn light of the newest IntelliLux LED. In left turns, the light beam reaches further to the left, so that the driver can more easily see roadside signs. When turning right in autobahn mode, the light beam shines further to the right, in order to avoid glare for oncoming traffic. The other light functions range from curve and bad weather, to town, country roads and autobahn, as well as optimised light for parking.

State-of-the-art connectivity and assistance systems

Typically for a flagship, Opel Insignia features a full range of assistance and infotainment systems. A new digital rear view camera improves rearward vision. Safety when reversing out of parking spaces can be further increased by the optional rear cross traffic alert. Additional assistance systems include forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian protection, lane keep assist, side blind zone alert, adaptive cruise control with emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, advanced park assist and head-up display. Adaptive cruise control maintains the gap to the vehicle ahead through automatic braking and acceleration. With automatic transmission. the radar-based system can brake the Insignia to a standstill and follow the vehicle ahead in traffic jams.

Portfolio of infotainment systems compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto extend from Multimedia Radio and Multimedia Navi to Multimedia Navi Pro. The top-of-the-line unit features numerous Connected Navigation services such as “Trip & Drive Management” and “Live navigation”, which provides online traffic information in real time. allowing delays to be detected quickly and avoided. Compatible smartphones can be charged wirelessly.  When e-Call is installed, an emergency call is automatically sent if the seatbelt tensioners or airbags are deployed. Alternatively, help can be actively summoned in seconds by simply pressing the red button.

  • Best in class: Opel flagship wins category for “4x4 cars up to €40,000”
  • Grip-champion: Advanced Twinster four-wheel drive with torque vectoring
  • Hat-trick: All-wheel drive title already won twice by bestselling Opel Mokka SUV

Opel Insignia with torque-vectoring four-wheel drive is "All-Wheel Drive Car Of The Year 2019"

Opel Insignia with torque-vectoring four-wheel drive is "All-Wheel Drive Car Of The Year 2019". The Opel flagship was elected winner in the category for cars costing up to €40,000 by the readers of Auto Bild Allrad. Opel Insignia thus repeats the success of the bestselling Opel Mokka SUV, which was previously elected all-wheel drive car of the year twice in succession.

“Thank you to the well-informed readers of Auto Bild Allrad for their appreciation”, said Opel Germany Marketing boss, Christina Herzog, at the prize-giving in Berlin. “Our Opel Insignia offers an engaging drive and the highest safety, especially with the advanced four-wheel drive system. This respected award shows that readers and customers see it the same way.”

Opel Insignia model range – with sales of more than one million units – is a wise choice for families as well as fleets. The current generation of the Insignia family comprises the Grand Sport, Sports Tourer, Country Tourer and the top-of-the-line, particularly sporty Insignia GSi NEDC (1) fuel consumption Insignia GSi with 154kW (210hp) BiTurbo diesel and eight-speed automatic transmission: urban 9.6 l/100 km, extra-urban 5.6 l/100 km, combined 7.1 l/100 km, 187-186 g/km CO2; WLTP2 fuel consumption: combined 7.8-7.4 l/100 km, 204-193 g/km CO2).

Opel Achieves Market Share of 10.2 Percent in September in Germany

Opel benefitted from the timely and consistent preparation of the transition to the new WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) test cycle in September: The brand with the Blitz achieved a passenger car market share of 10.2 percent (+ 2.6 percentage points) in Germany in September. This is the highest market share in an individual month since December 2010 and the highest September value since 2006.

New vehicles registered as of September 1, 2018, need to be certified according to the WLTP driving cycle. The procedure delivers fuel consumption data much closer to reality than this was the case for its predecessor, the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle). Unlike some competitors, Opel implemented these regulations at an early stage and can offer the entire passenger car portfolio without restrictions or delays.

Furthermore, Opel is already equipped for the new Euro 6d-Temp emissions standard: Currently, the Rüsselsheim-based carmaker offers 127 passenger models that already meet the strict limits of the new standard. It comes into force for all new registrations on September 1, 2019, at the latest.

“We have been preparing for these changes for years and certified our portfolio according to WLTP and Euro 6d-TEMP in good time. We can be proud of that. And now we are benefitting from it. With a view to the discussions on diesel driving bans in Germany, we can clearly say: Whoever buys an Opel now, does not need to fear driving bans,” said Jürgen Keller, Executive Director Sales, Marketing & Aftersales Opel Germany.

Modern Euro 6d TEMP vehicles, regardless of whether they have a petrol or a diesel engine, are not affected by the current discussions on inner-city driving bans.

Opel also benefitted from the extensive availability of WLTP-certified vehicles in other European countries. The brand with the Blitz achieved a market share of almost six percent in Spain while in France the company delivered its best passenger car market share since May 2015 with 4.3 percent. And Opel’s British sister brand Vauxhall also posted strong sales results in September. The combined passenger car and light commercial vehicles market share reached an 18-month high of 8.6 percent (compared to 7.3 percent in September 2017).

Opel Insignia Exclusive: Tailor Made Dream Car

  • Ideal for individualists: Dream-car in customer-developed colour
  • Options open: Exclusive wheels, leather trim and styling elements
  • Everything but “standard”: Exclusive experts make each Opel Insignia unique

Create your own dream-car in your favourite colour! No problem with the Opel Exclusive individualisation programme! Opel Exclusive lets Insignia buyers – Grand Sport, Sports Tourer or Country Tourer – choose their personalised colour scheme and select the light-alloy wheels they like most. There are also be special ranges of leather trims and styling elements. Thanks to Opel Exclusive, your car becomes your personal visiting card.

One of a kind – Insignia paint à la Opel Exclusive

With Opel Exclusive, buyers who configure their new Insignia can choose from 15 special colours, in addition to the 10 colours in the regular price list. For an additional €2,500 RRP including VAT,  the spectrum includes Dynamic Orange, Tornado Blue, Panther Black or Light Champagne. However, customers can also give their Insignia a really personal touch. This could be the colour of their favourite tie or their horse box, so that the complete combination is in the same colour, or in any other shade – all for €5,9001.

Opel Exclusive buyers can also choose their preferred paint finish:

  • Metallic, containing aluminium particles in various sizes.
  • Pearl effect, containing minute fragments of ground mica or aluminium particles.
  • Solid finish, for a particularly strong tone, without any additional contents.
  • Tinted clear-varnish finish. The final layer of clear varnish is lightly coloured, giving this intensive and brilliant paint additional depth.

A visit to the Opel dealer – and the experts do the rest

The first stop on the way to a dream-Insignia is the local Opel dealer. The customer hands over, for example, a colour sample in the form of a picture, photo or colour code and production of the unique Insignia can begin. Production of the exclusive flagship starts at the Rüsselsheim plant. After a dip into the immersion bath in the paint shop, where the base coat is applied – the body is temporarily removed from the regular production line.

At the same time, the Exclusive experts have already begun their work. Weeks before they actually touch the real body, they begin to develop the colour of the car. Gradually they approach the customer’s preference. As soon as the experts are ready, the customer receives a colour-swatch in the form of a 15 centimetre-long model car. If the customer is satisfied, around nine kilograms of this paint are made. This is sufficient to paint the body, the roof antenna, mirror housings and other add-on parts. The precise colour formula is archived and the customer receives his personal “colour ID”. This can also be found inside the car, in case the paint is needed again. When all the parts are painted, the body returns to the assembly line. Opel Insignia Exclusive is then completed in a computer-controlled process, until it leaves the line as a fully equipped, finished car. Even a smartphone cover with Opel Exclusive logo is available in the chosen colour !

More than a paint job – fine equipment for the Opel Insignia Exclusive

The advantages of Opel Exclusive go far beyond an almost unlimited variety of colours and paint finishes. Customers can also decorate their dream-car with the “High Gloss Black Exterior”: the usually chrome parts such as the grille bar, fog lamps, window frames and – on the Sports Tourer and Country Tourer – roof rails are transformed into high gloss black. Special 18 and 20-inch light-alloy wheels, which perfectly match the dynamic appearance of the Opel flagship, are also available. Inside, customers can further personalise their car with exclusive leather and decorative trims, which can also be combined with “regular” Opel Insignia options.

  • Harmonise with your Insignia: Personalisation through up to five individual user profiles

Future of Opel infotainment: New generation Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro systems make their debut in the Insignia flagship.

Seamless connectivity has become a “must-have” for modern automobiles. Customers nowadays expect to be able to use online services while driving. Opel has received many prizes, such as the “Connected Car Award”, for its major contributions to these developments. Their rapid growth is predicted to accelerate well into the next decade. The Rüsselsheim brand has prepared itself for this next phase of connectivity and in-car entertainment with a new generation of infotainment systems. They will make their debut later this year in the Insignia flagship model range.

The new Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro infotainment systems of the Insignia will consolidate Opel’s position as a leading player in infotainment and connectivity. The systems are not only state-of-the-art in terms of functionality, they are also stylish and intuitive to use. Customers enjoy a large colour touchscreen, up to eight inches in size. Additionally, drivers benefit from a high-resolution, clearly arranged Driver Information Cluster that with the Multimedia Navi Pro can be enhanced by an optional head-up display.

Whether connecting by conventional technology such as Bluetooth or USB, or by state-of-the-art phone integration via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto (which Opel was one of the first carmakers to introduce) the Insignia’s new infotainment systems extend Opel’s leadership in in-car entertainment and connectivity. In addition to AM/FM radio as standard, the top sound quality of DAB+ is available as an option. Up to two smartphones can be paired simultaneously.

The top-level Multimedia Navi Pro represents a new generation of Opel on-board navigation systems for the future. New features include connected navigation services for optimum points of interest and destination searches, as well as Live Traffic, real-time fuel prices, parking information according to the destination and online map updates. The additional comfort offered by 3D-map navigation, continuous zoom and smooth scrolling make each journey relaxing and enjoyable.

In the connected state (which requires a tethered smartphone), Live Traffic aggregates traffic information from multiple sources. Flow and conditions are updated in near real-time and integrated into routing. This provides more accurate and timely alerts as well as improved navigation routing. Additionally, Live Traffic shows which parts of the route are affected by delays and what kind of incident may be the cause.

For ease of use, the newly designed Human Machine Interface of Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro features an intuitive layout with direct access to main domains (e.g. audio, phone, navigation) via the home screen. The tablet-like controls and swipe-gestures are ergonomic and simple to use. The driver can also operate the infotainment system via controls on the steering wheel. To enable the driver to fully harmonise with the Insignia, the next-generation Multimedia Navi Pro infotainment system offers personalisation through user profiles. Up to five drivers can define their own profiles, allowing them to save numerous adjustments from climate-control settings to their preferred equalisation for the speaker system. Favourite destinations, playlists and points of interests are all stored according to the personalised profile, enabling the driver to concentrate on their journey. Future evolutions of the personalisation feature will include personalised search and routing, based on individual driving patterns.

The Insignia model range (Grand Sport, Sports Tourer, Country Tourer and GSi) will be the first to feature Opel’s next generation of infotainment systems.

With their stylish design and state-of-the-art functionality, as well as their intuitive operation, Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro offer high customer appeal. They will significantly strengthen Opel’s reputation as a leader in seamless automotive connectivity and in-car entertainment. The rollout will continue on additional models later this year and in 2019.

Opel Panoramic Roofs Make Springtime Light and Fun

Enjoy superb view in Opel Grandland X, Crossland X, Insignia Sports Tourer, Insignia Country Tourer, Zafira and new Combo Life

Brilliant outlook: Passengers in the Opel Grandland X can enjoy an unimpeded view of the sky thanks to the panoramic glass sunroof.

Spring is finally here, the grey sky has turned blue and it stays light until late in the evening. So everything is looking good, and it looks even better through the large panoramic roofs from Opel. The automaker offers high-quality glass roofs that grant a unique panorama view for many of its models. So the bright blue sky and the starry night can be enjoyed in the SUV newcomer Grandland X, the Insignia Sports Tourer and Insignia Country Tourer flagships, the Crossland X city SUV, the seven-seat Zafira and the brand new Combo Life from a completely new and unexpected perspective.

“The panoramic roofs in our Opel models make every drive an exceptional experience. The passengers in the first and second rows enjoy a perfect view, which adds to the fun and adventure. And the Grandland X, Insignia Sports Tourer and co. look very stylish with the high-quality glass roofs,” says Opel Managing Director Sales and Marketing Peter Küspert.

The two SUV newcomers Opel Grandland X and Opel Crossland X cut a fine figure with their sporty design and optional two-tone paint, and the panoramic glass sunroof opens up new horizons. At the same time, the glass roof ensures a light-flooded interior. When the sun is too strong, an electric sunblind provides protection for the passenger cabin. The panoramic roof can be ordered for the Grandland X for €700 and, depending on the trim level, from €570 for the Crossland X (all prices RRP including VAT in Germany).

Passengers in the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer and the Opel Insignia Country Tourer also feel close to the sun. The 1,400 x 860 millimetre electric panoramic sliding glass roof extends over the heads of the rear passengers and gives the sporty Opel flagships a particularly sophisticated touch. It also has a sunblind and can be conveniently closed via the central remote control. In addition, Insignia customers can adjust the front of the roof so that it lifts a bit and prevents annoying wind drag. Equipped with additional functions such as pre-selection and anti-trap protection, the elegant sliding, tilting glass roof is available for €1,285.

The Opel Zafira makes occupants feel like they’re on vacation the minute they set off on their journey. The panoramic windscreen flows into the panoramic sunroof, offering an unobstructed view similar to that of plane cockpit for €1,300 extra. The windscreen stretches from the hood almost to the B-pillar while the panoramic sunroof with electric sunblind reaches to the rear of the car, enhancing the interior’s light and airy lounge atmosphere. The flexible van with up to seven seats is a versatile, stylish travel companion for the whole family.

Soon the portfolio of Opel models with great views will be completed by the new Opel Combo Life. The optional panoramic roof not only ensures a light interior atmosphere, it is also extremely practical. When ordered with the panoramic roof, the Combo Life comes with overhead storage running down the centre of the vehicle with LED lighting as standard. Furthermore, in this configuration the newcomer is also fitted with a large 36-litre storage box mounted above the hat tray in the boot. This enables use of some of the space normally not utilised – without impeding the view of following traffic through the rear view mirror.

Opel Grandland X, Crossland X, Insignia Sports Tourer, Insignia Country Tourer, Zafira and Combo Life with panoramic roof – six signs of spring from Rüsselsheim.
