100,000 Orders Already Taken for New Opel Insignia Flagship

  • State-of-the-art equipment and options
  • Moderate running costs
  • Marketplace popularity matched by media success

Less than one year after the start of sales, Opel has already taken more than 100,000 orders for the new Insignia from all over Europe.

Manufactured at the Rüsselsheim plant in Germany, the new Insignia flagship is available as the Grand Sport limousine, the Sports Tourer estate and the all-wheel drive Country Tourer estate, in trim levels ranging from the already highly equipped Selection to the top-of-the-line Ultimate Exclusive.

The new Opel Insignia model line-up is crowned by the dynamic GSi – a sports-machine for those who like something special, a driver’s car for maximum fun on all kinds of roads.

The new Opel Insignia is powered by a portfolio of turbocharged, four-cylinder, diesel and gasoline engines from 1.5 to 2.0 litres in displacement, combined with a choice of six-speed manual or six and eight-speed automatic transmissions. The most powerful diesel and gasoline engines are also offered with innovative torque vectoring all-wheel drive.

The new Opel Insignia is extremely attractive for both private as well as fleet customers – it most recently picked up the “Company Car Today CCT100” award (Company Car Today) in the United Kingdom. Buyers not only benefit from numerous state-of-the-art technologies such as adaptive cruise control (which automatically adjusts the speed to follow the vehicle in front according to the selected following distance), IntelliLux LED matrix headlights (which automatically adapt to every traffic situation) and ergonomic seats certified by the back-specialists from Aktion Gesunder Rücken e. V. The new Opel Insignia also offers moderate cost of ownership compared with its competitors in the high-volume and premium segments.

Nine in ten of the new Opel Insignia cars ordered so far come with the optional Navi 900 IntelliLink top-of-the-range infotainment system. The integrated navigation system features an eight-inch capacitive colour touchscreen. Navi 900 IntelliLink is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, thus bringing the world of smartphones into the car. If OnStar is on board, smartphones can also connect to the car’s powerful 4G/LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot[1] – for example for flawless online audio streaming.

The popularity of the new Opel Insignia in the marketplace is matched by its success in the international media. The new Opel flagship has won prestigious awards from authoritative publications such as the “Golden Steering Wheel” 2017 in Poland (Auto Swiat) and Slovenia (Auto Bild) as well as “Best Car 2017” (Fleet Cars & Vans, Fleet Auto Premium) in Poland and “Fleet News of the Year” (FLEET Magazine) in the Czech Republic.

The new Opel Insignia has also proved its mettle against tough competition in comparison tests carried out by automotive magazines across Europe. To date, the Insignia has won 23 of 40 comparison tests: four wins in Germany (Autostraßenverkehr July 26 and September 20, Auto Zeitung July 26, Auto Bild August 4); three wins in the Netherlands (AutoWeek 29/17 and online July 21, AutoVisie July 6) and the Czech Republic (auto.cz September 29, AutoTIP October 2, auto motor und sport October 17); two in Portugal (Auto Hoje August 24, Auto Foco December 21), Belgium (Le Moniteur Automobile November 27, AutoWereld December 1), Poland (Auto Świat July 10 and July 17), Sweden (Teknikens Värld August 27, Vi Bilägare January 2018),and the United Kingdom (What Car? Groupe PSA chooses Atlanta for its North American Headquarters

 • Groupe PSA North America’s headquarters will be operational by February

• The latest step of its 10-year plan for a progressive entry of Groupe PSA into North American market

• Highly skilled people will join the team as Groupe PSA North America grows into broader fields of the business

Groupe PSA has chosen to establish its new North American headquarters in Atlanta, Fulton County. The headquarters will be operational by February 2018. A core team has already been set up to build the strategy and steer its execution. The decision to locate in Atlanta came after a yearlong, nationwide search to find the optimal balance of business environment, standard of living and workforce.

“We’re thrilled that Groupe PSA – the second largest carmaker in Europe and one of the top mobility providers in the world – has picked Atlanta as its new North American home” said Governor Deal after his visit in France end 2017. “Groupe PSA joins a growing family of automotive manufacturers and suppliers operating here in Georgia. This announcement is a great win for our state and yet another testament to the strength of our business environment and infrastructure.”

“We looked at every aspect of the Atlanta community and found it to be the most suitable location for us,” said Larry Dominique, President of PSA North America. “While the overall business environment, standard of living and university system played an important part in our decision, our unique needs in terms of technology, mobility innovation and car culture ultimately identified Atlanta as our perfect choice.”

In April 2016, Groupe PSA announced the return to the U.S. market in three phases plan as outlined in the

Push to Pass strategic plan: mobility services at first, mobility services with Groupe PSA’s vehicles then and finally retail sales. The first step has been already initiated with Free2Move aggregation platform launched in October 2017 in Seattle before rolling into other cities in the coming months. This application allows users to choose between a wide range of car, scooter and bike sharing transportation services.

“We are at the epicenter of North America’s auto industry and we are excited to welcome Groupe PSA to Georgia”, said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. “When we visited PSA in Paris with Governor Deal a few weeks ago, we quickly learned that Groupe PSA would be a fantastic addition to our automotive community.”

Stylish, Versatile, Practical: Original Opel Accessories for Opel Crossland X

  • Stylish accessories: High quality appearance, inside and out
  • Neat and tidy: FlexOrganizer for more comfort on journeys
  • Safely stowed: Carrying luggage, skis and snowboards on the roof
  • Clean: Cargo space protection, mud flaps and more
  • No worries: Child seats for all age groups

Everything on board: Skiwear fits in the boot of the Opel Crossland X while the snowboard can be safely stowed on the roof rack.

Stylish und functional, the Opel Crossland X combines practicability and spaciousness with the cool looks of an SUV. Tailor-made, high-quality, original Opel accessories make the popular crossover even more comfortable, safer and practical. For the winter vacation, for example, the comprehensive offer includes roof boxes and roof carriers as well as comfort, safety, protection and infotainment equipment. They are complemented by winter tyres and snow chains as well as a variety of design and OPC styling elements.

More style: Turning the Opel Crossland X into an immediate eye-catcher

Opel offers styling accessories that make the Crossland X look even more attractive. These include the inviting door sill panels in aluminium-look with LED-illuminated Opel-logo, as well as the stainless steel OPC Line pedal covers (€99.90*), which give the driver a sporty feeling. The stable aluminium running boards with stainless steel surface (and rubber inserts to prevent slipping) (€547.00*), tailor-made for the Crossland X, enable easier access to the roof rack and roof box. They are also elegant eye-catchers that underline the cool looks of the Crossland X.

Especially in winter, the black Opel mud flaps (€36.50*) protect the Crossland X’s paintwork from mud, salt, grit or snow. They are simple to fit without tools and easy to clean.

Practical, safe, tidy: Versatile equipment for cargo space and interior

Scratches and stains in the cargo area of the Crossland X are history thanks to the protective trim, trays and clever FlexOrganizer. The anti-slip tray (€70.50*) keeps the trunk clean and tidy, while the high, stable edges provide protection from dirt and moisture. Mucky wellingtons or ski boots can be placed on the rubber floor mats (€52.50* for a set of four) – and the passenger compartment stays clean.

Opel also offers numerous FlexConnect items. They are easy to attach and remove from the front head restraints. The fixtures can hold various devices, such as tablets for watching films or books. Alternatively, a FlexConnect hook and hanger can be attached to the base carrier – useful for holding shopping bags or clothing. Additional comfort in the second row is provided by a folding table with integrated cup-holder. The table offers a stable surface and can be folded away to save space when not needed. Inserts for cup-holders and storage for cosmetics, stationery and smaller day-to-day objects round off the range of accessories for keeping the interior neat and tidy.

If pets or large objects are on-board, a stable grille (€186.00*) keeps them in the cargo area in the event of emergency braking. The safety-divider made of coated steel can be installed behind the head restraints in the second row. In addition, the flexible Opel cargo area safety net, which can be fastened to the floor via hooks, ensures that luggage does not slip around.

Cargo area plus: Roof carriers, boxes, etc.

The Opel accessory-range also includes a wide choice of transport and carrier systems for sporty excursions and trips. Opel Crossland X customers can create additional storage space with the aluminium base carrier and wide choice of roof boxes from Opel’s partner, Thule. The Thule carrier system “Xtender 739”, for example, holds up to six pairs of skis and up to four snowboards. Boxes of various sizes – such as the aerodynamically shaped roof box “Excellence” – can also be attached to the base roof carrier. The 2,180 x 940 x 400-millimetre box can be opened from both sides, which makes loading and unloading much easier. The luggage volume of the Opel Crossland X thus grows by up to 470 litres – enough space for the winter vacation luggage of the whole family.

Stress-free family travels: Safe, easy-to-fit child seats

Opel also thinks of the smallest passengers in the Crossland X and offers a variety of child seats and restraint systems for all age groups – all compliant with the newest EU safety regulations including side impact protection. The snug-fitting and easy-to-install child seats with ISOFIX attachment system or standard three-point belt are available at prices from €179.00*.

More information about the practical, safe and stylish accessories for the Crossland X can be obtained online or at any Opel dealer.

* All prices RRP in Germany. Additional installation costs for certain parts.
