Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann has stepped down as the Speaker of
the Management Board and CEO of Adam Opel GmbH today. He remains a
member of the Management Board until the closing of the sale of
Opel/Vauxhall to Groupe PSA. Michael Lohscheller, Opel CFO since
September 2012, has been unanimously appointed as his successor with
immediate effect by the Supervisory Board. This will ensure continuity
for the business and its stakeholders as well as a seamless managerial
transition with the priority task to build the new strategic plan for
Opel.

According to Dr. Neumann, “it was a difficult personal decision to
not continue with the Opel/Vauxhall team when it transitions to Groupe
PSA. I am proud of the team for all we have accomplished so far and have
no doubt that the move to PSA will make Opel/Vauxhall an even stronger
and more successful company in the future. I am committed to completing
this transaction and will then take some time to decide what is next for
me.”

Opel celebrated the official start of production of the new Crossland
X in Zaragoza, Spain, today. Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, Chairman of the
Management Board of the Opel Group, drove the first new Opel Crossland
X, a white model with black roof, off the production line. "Today is a
great day for Opel and the Zaragoza plant. The Crossland X is an
important part of our model offensive as we are adding another exciting
car to the booming SUV and CUV market. This will support our growth
strategy," said Dr. Neumann.
Dr. Neumann also praised the dedication and performance of the whole
team at the Zaragoza plant that has once again delivered an excellent
production launch and added: “I am sure that the Opel Crossland X will be a
big success. It has the right DNA to follow in the footsteps of our
Opel Mokka X that really kicked off a success story in the sub-compact SUV
segment. The fact that both models are produced here in Zaragoza
underlines the importance of the plant for our model offensive.”
Opel Crossland X is the first visible result of the cooperation with
PSA that started in 2012. This model and the new Opel Grandland X, the second
car developed jointly, show that the teamwork displayed by Opel and PSA
results in superb cars.
In future there will also be a cooperation on the development of the
next Opel Corsa generation, which will be based on a PSA architecture. As
already announced in 2016, the car will roll off the production line in
Zaragoza by the end of 2019.
Opel Crossland X combines practicality and generous space with the
cool look of an SUV and offers outstanding innovations that make every
day driving safer, more comfortable and easier. Full LED headlamps
paired with functions such as cornering light, high beam assist and auto
levelling, head up display and the 180-degree Panoramic Rear View
Camera along with Advanced Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert with
pedestrian detection and Automatic Emergency Braking [1],[2], Driver Drowsiness Alert[2],
Lane Departure Warning, Speed Sign Recognition and Side Blind Spot
Alert are just some examples. The new Crossland X also comes with
Opel-typical outstanding connectivity thanks to Opel OnStar as well as
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible IntelliLink infotainment
technology including up to 8-inch large color touchscreens.
Opel Crossland X represents a further important step in the biggest
product offensive in the history of Opel/Vauxhall. From 2016 through
2020 the company will introduce 29 new models, seven of those in 2017
alone.
Opel has over three decades of history in Spain and is the number one
private employer in the autonomous province of Aragon. The Zaragoza
plant manufactures three model lines (Corsa, Mokka X and Crossland X)
and is the biggest Opel production plant in Europe. To date, today more
than 12 million cars have been produced in the plant. Opel has
established itself as the leader of the Spanish passenger car market in
the first quarter. With more than 25,000 passenger new car registrations
in the first three months of 2017 the brand reached a market share of
around 8.2 percent in Spain.

This is where a sporty character meets the spirit of adventure:
modern, dynamic lines, a cool off-road look and the elevated seating
position with good all-round visibility typical of an SUV. This is the
new Opel Grandland X – with a host of top technologies on board and
plenty of space for up to five adventurous passengers, their luggage and
sport equipment. These qualities make the Opel a new contender in the
booming SUV segment. In the compact class alone, the SUV share has
increased from seven percent in 2010 to nearly 20 percent today. The
4.48 meter-long Grandland X’s athletic look boasts crisp exterior
dimensions with its taut muscles and short overhangs. And with optional
two-color finish, the compact SUV shows its very own style. The Opel

Opel again delivers on its commitment to leadership in lighting

Opel Grandland X offers one thing above all: safe driving fun all year
round and on every surface. This is also thanks to the optional
electronic Grip Control that, especially with M&S tires,
ensures top traction in diverse driving situations. The driver has a
choice of five driving modes. The system then adapts the torque
distribution to the front wheels, allow wheel-spin if necessary, and
with the automatic transmission adjusts shift points as well as throttle
response. This ensures best traction and stable handling regardless of
whether the Grandland X is travelling on snow, mud, sand or wet
surfaces.
Sharp design with fine details: How elegant an SUV can look
At 4,477 millimeters long, 1,844 millimeters wide and 1,636
millimeters high, the new Opel Grandland X is a cool, robust SUV from
every perspective of its sporty presence. In the front above the
skidplate the bold grille proudly displays the Opel Blitz. The chrome
winglets embrace the brand logo and flow outwards to the slim,
double-wing LED headlamps, optically widening the front and giving the
Grandland X a powerful, solid stance. The hood features the signature
Opel crease – an expression of the Opel design philosophy ‘Sculptural
Artistry meets German Precision’.
Its side views echo the attractive combination of rugged SUV charm
and elegant lines. Muscular, sculpted wheel arches and protective
cladding on the lower body give the Grandland X real off-road appeal. In
contrast, clear lines and the refined blade on the lower doors identify
the new Grandland X as a member of the Opel family. Optional two-tone
finish with the roof in contrasting black adds an extra touch of
personalization. Its smooth flow into the rest of the body is emphasized

the rear. The rear view of the Grandland X shows down to the smallest

Opel Grandland X radiates the same quality in the interior: the
instrument panel and center stack with touchscreen are clearly laid out
and horizontally aligned to the driver. The center stack has three
horizontal rows of controls for fast and intuitive access to
infotainment, climate control and chassis functions. The interior
surfaces feature high-class haptics, giving the driver and passengers a
feeling of well-being and comfort in all seats. They benefit from the
SUV-typical elevated seating position that eases ingress/egress and
ensures good visibility. Its long wheelbase of 2,675 millimeters also
ensures that the compact class SUV has plenty of space for up to five
people. And the luggage compartment with a load volume from 514 to a

A new era begins today at Opel’s home plant in Rüsselsheim; the first
Opel Insignia Grand Sport produced to customer order officially rolled off
the assembly line on Tuesday. “We have been looking forward to today for
a long time; our new flagship has finally arrived. This is an important
day for Opel and Rüsselsheim,” said Opel CEO, Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann
during the celebrations for the start of production of the second
generation Opel Insignia. We invested more than €500 million just to
prepare for the production of our new flagship.” An Insignia Grand Sport
in abalone white with 170 hp 2.0 liter diesel engine stood in the
spotlight at the end of the production line.
Deputy Works Council Chairman, Uwe Baum said: “The team here in
Rüsselsheim has once again demonstrated that they can deliver smooth
production start-ups enabling great cars to leave the assembly line. The
Works Council is especially grateful to them today, because the new Opel
Insignia is an important part of the future for Opel, which would not be
possible without the input of these colleagues.”
Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann also praised the work of the whole team in
the Rüsselsheim plant and added: “The new Opel flagship is a core
element of our product offensive, which will reach a new peak with seven
new models this year alone.”
Plant Manager, Michael Lewald thanked his workforce for their great
efforts in successfully preparing and executing the start of production
during the last months. “Our team did another great job and superbly
executed this highly complex production-start. I am proud of our new
flagship and the performance of the Rüsselsheim team.”

The order books for the new Opel Insignia Grand Sport and Sports Tourer
opened on February 16. The first three production cars are destined for
Poland, Denmark and Germany. The new Opel flagship just made its
official world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. The car will be in
dealer showrooms this summer.
Dr. Neumann is confident that the new edition of the Opel flagship
will continue the success of its predecessor. Nine hundred and forty
thousand (940,000) units of the first generation Opel Insignia – The 2009
European Car Of The Year – have been sold in total, making it the fourth
best-selling Opel model.
Based on an all-new vehicle structure, the new Insignia is up to 200
kilograms lighter than its predecessor as well as lower and more
spacious inside. The design is athletic yet elegant. One of the
technology highlights is the intelligent all-wheel drive system with
torque vectoring – torque distribution to individual wheels within

Geneva Motor Show (March 7‑19) was opened this morning by Dr.
Karl-Thomas Neumann. In front of an audience of around 400 international
journalists, the Opel Group CEO spoke about the alliance with
the PSA Group announced in Paris the day before. Later he presented the
Opel Crossland X crossover that has already been developed together
with PSA. Finally there was the world premiere of the second-generation
Opel Insignia. Dr. Neumann revealed, together with vice president of design,
Mark Adams, Opel Insignia Grand Sport five-door liftback and the spacious
Insignia Sports Tourer.

Speaking today about the new possibilities for the brand under the

General Motors Co. and PSA Group today announced an agreement under which GM’s
Opel/Vauxhall subsidiary and GM Financial’s European operations will
join the PSA Group in a transaction valuing these activities at €1.3 Bn
and €0.9 Bn, respectively.
With the addition of Opel/Vauxhall, which generated revenue of €17.7 Bn in 20161, PSA will become the second-largest automotive company in Europe, with a 17% market share2.

Strengthens Each Company for the Long Term
The transaction will allow substantial economies of scale and
synergies in purchasing, manufacturing and R&D. Annual synergies of
€1.7 Bn are expected by 2026 – of which a significant part is expected
to be delivered by 2020, accelerating Opel/Vauxhall’s turnaround.
Leveraging the successful partnership with GM, PSA expects Opel/Vauxhall
to reach a recurring operating margin3 of 2% by 2020 and 6% by 2026, and to generate a positive operational free cash flow4 by 2020.
PSA, together with BNP Paribas, will also acquire all of GM
Financial’s European operations through a newly formed 50%/50% joint
venture that will retain GM Financial’s current European platform and
team. This joint venture will be fully consolidated by BNP Paribas and
accounted under the equity method by PSA.
The transaction is another step in GM’s ongoing work to transform the
company, which has delivered three years of record performance and a
strong 2017 outlook, and returned significant capital to shareholders.
It will strengthen GM’s core business, support its continued deployment
of resources to higher-return opportunities including in advanced
technologies driving the future, and unlock significant value for
shareholders.
By immediately improving EBIT-adjusted, EBIT-adjusted margins and
adjusted automotive free cash flow and de-risking the balance sheet, the
transaction will enable GM to lower the cash balance requirement under
its capital allocation framework by $2 Bn, which it intends to use to
accelerate share repurchases, subject to market conditions.
GM will also participate in the future success of the combined entity
through its ownership of warrants to purchase shares of PSA. GM and PSA
also expect to collaborate in the further deployment of electrification
technologies and existing supply agreements for Holden and certain
Buick models will continue, and PSA may potentially source long-term
supply of fuel cell systems from the GM/Honda joint venture.
Additional Information
Terms of the Agreement
Opel/Vauxhall automotive operations will be acquired by PSA for €1.3
Bn. GM Financial’s European operations will be jointly acquired by PSA
and BNP Paribas for 0.8 times their pro forma book value at the closing
of the transaction, or approximately €0.9 Bn.
The transaction has a total value of €2.2 Bn, for Opel/Vauxhall
automotive operations and 100% of GM Financial’s European operations.
The transaction value for PSA, including Opel/Vauxhall and 50% of GM Financial’s European operations, will be €1.8 Bn.
In connection with this transaction, GM or its affiliates will
subscribe warrants for €0.65 Bn. These warrants have a nine-year
maturity and are exercisable at any time in whole or in part commencing 5
years after the issue date, with a strike price of €1. Based on a
reference price of €17.34 for the PSA share5, the warrants correspond to 39.7 MM shares of PSA, or 4.2% of its fully diluted share capital6.
GM will not have governance or voting rights with respect to PSA and
has agreed to sell the PSA shares received upon exercise of the warrants
within 35 days after exercise.
The transaction includes all of Opel/Vauxhall’s automotive
operations, comprising Opel and Vauxhall brands, six assembly and five
component-manufacturing facilities, one engineering center (Rüsselsheim, Germany) and approximately 40,000 employees. GM will retain the
engineering center in Torino, Italy.
Opel/Vauxhall will also continue to benefit from intellectual
property licenses from GM until its vehicles progressively convert to
PSA platforms over the coming years.
In connection with the transaction, GM will take a primarily non-cash special charge of $4.0-4.5 Bn.
Ongoing Pension Fund Commitments
All of Opel/Vauxhall’s European and U.K. pension plans, funded and
unfunded, with the exception of the German Actives Plan and selected
smaller plans will remain with GM. The obligations with respect to the
German Actives Plan and these smaller plans of Opel/Vauxhall will be
transferred to PSA. GM will pay PSA €3.0 Bn for full settlement of
transferred pension obligations.
Closing Conditions
The transaction is subject to various closing conditions, including
regulatory approvals and reorganizations, and is expected to close
before the end of 2017.
Warrants
The issuance of the warrants is subject to the vote of shareholders at PSA’s General Meeting of May 10th,
2017. The three main shareholders of PSA (the French State, the Peugeot
family and DongFeng) representing in aggregate 36.6% of the share
capital and 51.5%7 of the voting rights of PSA have
undertaken to vote in favor of the resolution related to the issuance of
the warrants to GM. In the event the warrant issuance reserved to GM
and its affiliates is not approved by PSA’s General Meeting, PSA will
settle the €0.65 Bn in cash over five years.

The new Opel Ampera-e is the electric car with a revolutionary officially certified NEDC range of 520 kilometers
(measured in accordance with the New European Driving Cycle). The 4.17
meter long Ampera-e also offers plenty of space for up to five
passengers plus trunk space of 381 liters (1,274 liters when the seats
are folded down), which is more than some compact class cars. “We are
bringing an electric car fully suitable for everyday use to market in
the Ampera-e. It is not eco-luxury, not a gadget and not just a second
car. Opel is showing that electro-mobility is also achievable for a much
broader audience thanks to the most innovative technology,” said Opel
CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann. The newcomer has been available for order
in Norway, a country fully geared up for electro-mobility, for a few
weeks now and orders have surpassed 3,400. With the Opel Ampera-e set to go
on sale in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland shortly it

the combination of high-tech battery, assistance systems and digital

No range anxiety: New Opel Ampera-e revolutionizes electro-mobility.
The new Opel Ampera-e – Overview
Battery & range
60 kWh lithium-ion battery consisting of 288 cells
arranged in eight modules of 30 and two modules of 24 cells. The entire
battery pack is an integral part of the underbody. This saves space
while simultaneously guaranteeing safety. A 30-minute charge at a 50 kW
DC public fast-charger will add a further 150 kilometers of range. Opel
grant a warranty of up to eight years or 160,000 kilometers for the
battery system. The revolutionary electric car has a range of 520 kilometers
measured based on the NEDC test cycle with a full battery. And the Opel
Ampera-e also impresses when tested approximated to the speed profile
defined in the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test
Procedure) driving cycle (shortened test procedure): Based on this
development test, the engineers estimate a combined WLTP range of 380 kilometers. Naturally, the range in everyday use will vary and depends on personal driving behavior and on external factors.
Performance & torque
Instant torque of 360 Nm is responsible for the electrifying temperament of the Ampera-e. The output of the electric motor is equivalent to 150 kW/204 hp (PS). This enables the Opel Ampera-e to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds
– times rivalling those of sports cars. Mid-range acceleration from 80
to 120 km/h, which is especially important for overtaking maneuvers, is
completed in just 4.5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 150 km/h for the benefit of the overall range.
Comfort & Safety
The new Ampera-e also follows Opel’s strategy of making technologies
normally only known from the luxury class available to a broader
audience at affordable prices. Therefore, the electric car from
Rüsselsheim comes with a string of high-tech assistance systems.
Advanced Park Assist: It finds suitable parallel and
perpendicular parking slots automatically park the Ampera-e. The driver
only needs to operate the pedals. Advanced Park Assist scans free
parking spaces between parallel parked vehicles as normally encountered
on supermarket car parks. Furthermore, the clever assistant searches for
roadside parking spots between parked cars. The driver always has an
excellent overview thanks to the 130-degree rear-view camera.
Safety assistant: A string of systems helps ensure that the
Opel Ampera-e always keeps a safe distance to the vehicle in front, does
not unintentionally leave its lane, no other road users are overlooked
and supports the driver right up to emergency braking. The amount of
assistants even helps eliminate the fear of being caught in hectic

The all-new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer is in extremely good shape.
It follows the sporty example set by a large coupé, is uncompromisingly
spacious and offers exemplary safety just like a true flagship should.
The second generation Insignia impresses with its breathtaking lines, a
trunk volume that has been increased to 1,640 liters – over 100 liters
more than the outgoing model – and high-tech solutions ranging from the
trendsetting Opel IntelliLux LED Matrix headlights and
ultra-modern driver assistance systems to the cool head-up display. In
addition, the Insignia comes with Opel-typical first-class connectivity
with smartphone integration which now offers a new Opel OnStar feature –
the Personal Assistant which allows Insignia occupants to book hotel
rooms and search for parking via an OnStar Advisor. The new flagship is
also the first car made in Rüsselsheim available with an eight-speed
automatic transmission, a 360° camera and intelligent all-wheel drive
with torque vectoring. The all-new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer will celebrate its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7 and order books will open in February.

The all-new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer is up to 200 kilograms lighter
than the outgoing model – depending on powertrain and trim. This was
mainly made possible by the use of lightweight materials and efficient
packaging. Combined with the lower seating position of the driver it
results in a noticeable increase in driving dynamics – never before has a
large station wagon from Rüsselsheim been so agile.
Clear lines: Opel blade characterizes the side of the new Opel
Insignia Sports Tourer. Sweeping chrome between windows and roof
makes the wagon look even more dynamic.

High-tech assistance systems: Fore more comfort and safety
The new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer comes with the same leading technologies already announced for the Opel Insignia Grand Sport. Most notably that includes the next generation of the adaptive Opel IntelliLux LED Matrix light system, which is even quicker and more precise than
before. Features such as Lane Keep Assist with automatic steering
correction increase safety even further. Furthermore, the new Insignia
is the first Opel with an active hood. In case of a collision, the hood
lifts up in milliseconds, thus increasing the distance to the engine and
offering pedestrians improved protection.
Wellness wagon: Ergonomic, AGR-certified, premium seats of the
new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer feature electrically operated cushion
adjustment, massage, memory and ventilation functions.
Inside, the optional AGR-certified (Aktion Gesunder Rücken
e. V.) premium ergonomic seats with massage, ventilation and memory
function ensure an even more comfortable ride. Furthermore, the two
outer rear seats are heated – just like the windshield. The large
panorama sunroof enables an unhindered view towards heaven. Obviously,
Opel thought about comfortable and clean loading. The tailgate of the

Emotional eye catcher: Opel Insignia Sports Tourer in Opel Monza Concept skin
The new Opel Insignia Grand Sport already takes many cues from the athletic Opel Monza Concept
but this is taken even further in the new generation Insignia Sports
Tourer. Although the exterior dimensions have grown slightly to 4,986
millimeters, the newcomer looks much more athletic and agile. The 11
millimeters increased track, the prominent grille and the Monza
Concept-inspired headlights all add to this perception. The car’s stance
is also emphasized by the wheelbase, which has been extended by 92
millimeters to 2,829 millimeters, and a front overhang that has been
reduced by 30 millimeters. The Opel blade starting in the front door and
sweeping towards the rear helps carry the eye from front to back. The
chrome window blade dynamically flows into the LED tail lamps and gives
the ‘low’, only 1,483 millimeter tall Insignia Sports Tourer an even
more athletic appearance. The silver roof rails (standard in all
equipment levels) help stretch the car, make it look lower and emphasize
the high-quality design.
Opel Insignia Sports Tourer’s kinship with the Opel Monza Concept is
especially apparent at the rear: The shape looks much lighter than
before with the newcomer defined by clear lines. Together with the slim,
slightly protruding LED taillights in double-wing design, they help the
rear end of the Opel flagship to make a strong impression. The
high-tech look of the Opel Monza Concept thus becomes reality.
Easy loader: Tailgate with an extra kick
The next generation Sports Tourer not only looks more elegant and
sporty, it is also more practical. The overhang between bumper and trunk
is reduced, thanks to the neatly designed tailgate, which also makes
loading easier. In addition, the width between the wheel arches has
increased, which makes it easier to install bulky items such as a dog
kennel. The same applies to the length of the trunk, which has grown by
97 millimeters to 2,005 millimeters with the backs of the rear seats
folded. The all-new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer thus offers a maximum trunk
volume of 1,640 liters, over 100 liters more than its predecessor.
Perfect for packing: Trunk of the new Opel Insignia Sports
Tourer offers lots of space, a wide load surface and – with the
FlexOrganizer pack – luggage nets and fastening rails in the floor.
In order to make loading as easy as possible, the tailgate can be opened with a kick,
without touching the car. In combination with “Keyless Open” a simple
small kicking motion under the rear bumper is enough to open the
tailgate (a vehicle silhouette projected onto the ground shows the
correct area). A further kicking motion under the bumper will close the
tailgate. The clever system can detect any obstruction and stops the
mechanism in case of emergency. In addition, for practicability, the
height of the opening can be programmed, in case the car is in a garage.
Furthermore, the tailgate can still be opened by a switch on the
driver’s side of the car, a button at the rear or via the key’s remote
control.

In order to increase loading space the all-new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer
comes with optional 40/20/40 foldable rear seats enabling even more
flexible loading space configurations. The rear seat bank can be folded
down by simply pushing a button located in the luggage compartment.
Furthermore, the FlexOrganizer Pack with side rails, dividing nets and
various fastening options is available as an option so that all loaded
materials can be stored safely and tidily. The upward-opening trunk
cover makes for even easier access to the trunk.
Wellness: Comfort and connectivity for driver and passengers
Bright outlook: The optional panorama sunroof of the Opel Insignia
Sports Tourer stretches back over the heads of the rear seat passengers.
The attention to detail is also recognizable in the passenger
compartment. Headroom has increased by 31 millimeters, shoulder-room by
25 millimeters and space for the hips by 27 millimeters. Additional
luxury is provided by the optional 1,400 x 860 millimeters panorama sunroof that stretches back over the heads of rear-seat passengers. For the first time, both outer rear seats of the Opel Insignia are also heated.
The cockpit is adapted to the person sitting behind the steering
wheel. The driver of the all-new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer sits lower in the
car than before and is surrounded by the instruments and center console,
as if sitting in a command center. Clear lines and sculptural surfaces
true to the Opel design philosophy contribute further to the elegant
appearance. The frameless touchscreen of the IntelliLink system, which
is oriented towards the driver, displays a high-class character. In
addition to the touchscreen, the controls can be operated intuitively by
three rows of buttons. The top row is reserved for the infotainment
system, the middle row for heating, ventilation and air conditioning and
the bottom row is for driver assistance systems.

color touchscreen.

And while the smartphone is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s
infotainment it now can also be charged wirelessly without the use of a
cable. Naturally, the groundbreaking connectivity and service assistant Opel OnStar
is also on board, offering services ranging from Automatic Crash
Response to Stolen Vehicle Assistance. A new Personal Assistant service
will be launched together with the Insignia, enabling its occupants to
ask OnStar advisors, for example, to select a hotel and proceed to room
reservation as well as looking for available parking. Furthermore, the
4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot featured in the OnStar system allows all Insignia
occupants to connect their devices to the net.

One of the highlights in every sense of the word is the (already)
second generation of Opel’s innovative and award-winning adaptive IntelliLux LEDMatrix light, enabled by new generation LED technology and further developments from Opel engineers. The Opel IntelliLuxLEDMatrix lightnow
has 16 LED segments integrated into each of the very slim headlamps of
the Insignia. The increased number of LED segments enables the various
light patterns to adapt to the prevailing traffic situation even more
precisely and the transitions between the multiple lighting patterns are
faster and more seamless. To improve visibility even further while
driving through curves on full high beam, Opel engineers added an
innovative active curve lighting function to the new Insignia’s
IntelliLux LED Matrix headlights. According to the steering
angle, the light intensity provided by the LED segments lighting the
inner of the curve rises to better illuminate the line to follow. Last
but not least, a further, dedicated LED spotlight located within the low
beam module provides additional illumination at full high-beam for up
to 400 meters.
Additional driver assistance systems include:
Head-up-Display: Information on speed, traffic signs, set
speed of speed limiter or navigation direction is projected onto the
windshield and in the driver’s direct line of sight ensuring that the
eyes remain on the road.
360° camera, which consists of four individual cameras on
each side of the car. It enables a 360-degree bird’s-eye view and thus
facilitates every parking maneuver.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which measures the distance to
the vehicle in front and adapts the speed accordingly. ACC will
initiate automatic emergency braking if the distance decreases abruptly.
Lane Keep Assist with automated steering correction and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
Provides gentle steering wheel movements (and LDW alerts if necessary)
to help drivers avoid unintentionally drifting out of their lane.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The system uses radar sensors in
the rear bumper to detect objects coming from up to 20 meters at 90
degrees from the left or right side behind the vehicle, a very useful
function when reversing out of a parking spot with limited visibility.
Pure fun to drive: Torque vectoring all-wheel drive and broad range of powertrains
Driving pleasure and safety no matter what the conditions are guaranteed thanks to the Insignia’s new intelligent all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring
– the most sophisticated in class. Two electrically controlled
multi-plate clutches in the all-wheel drive system replace the usual
rear axle differential, providing a much more precise power transmission
to each wheel individually, no matter whether the roads are graveled,
wet, icy or snowy. When cornering, additional torque is transmitted to
the outside rear wheel, sensibly reducing understeering and enabling
more precise control. The system reacts within a split-second of the
accelerator being pressed, ensuring that the car remains more stable and
easier to steer in every situation.
In addition, the further improvedFlexRide chassis
provides the basis for excellent, situation-based driving behavior.
FlexRide adapts the dampers, steering, throttle response and shift
points (on automatics) independently or based on the modes ‘Standard’,
‘Sport’ or ‘Tour’, which can be selected by the driver. The new central
‘Drive Mode Control’ software is the heart and soul of the adaptive
chassis. It continuously analyzes the information provided by the
sensors and settings and recognizes the individual driving style.

The CUV/SUV B-segment is booming with sales figures are up five-fold since 2010. One of the bestsellers and thus one of the trendsetters is the Opel Mokka X. The Crossland X will now add further stimulation to this new, rapidly growing segment situated below the established compact class and ensure additional growth of the Opel brand.

With its length of 4,212 millimeters, width of 1,765 millimeters and height of 1,590 millimeters it is very compact. The Crossland X brings its very own interpretation of Opel’s design philosophy ‘Sculptural Artistry meets German Precision’ to the table and makes it both sophisticated and rugged. From the front, it confidently displays a prominent grille with shining Opel Blitz. Two chrome winglets embrace the Blitz and flow outwards to the characteristic ‘double-wing’ Opel signature LED daytime running lights. They come with a 60/40 split and can be moved back by up to 150 millimeters, making travelling in the second row even more comfortable for passengers for long legs. Journeys can be made even more relaxing and safer with the numerous ultra-modern technologies and assistance system available with the new Opel Crossland X. Adaptive Forward Lighting(AFL) with Full LED headlamps ensures outstanding visibility in the dark. Functions such as cornering light, high beam assist and auto levelling guarantee optimal illumination of the road ahead. The optional Head Up Display(HUD) reduces the danger of distractions and projects the most important data on speed, navigation and assistance systems into the driver’s direct line of sight.
Opel Eye front camera processes diverse data thus forming the basis for the driver assistance systems such as Speed Sign Recognition and Lane Keep Assist. It increases the angle of sight at the back of the car to 180 degrees so that the driver can, for example, see other road users approaching from either side when reversing. Elsewhere, the latest generation of Advanced Park Assist facilitates parking even further. It recognizes suitable parking slots and parks the vehicle automatically. It can also exit the parking slot automatically. In both cases, the driver only needs to operate the pedals. And during the winter months the heated steering wheel and the heated windshield increase comfort and safety.
