Vauxhall scores a 1-2 finish with Corsa and Mokka as UK's two best-sellers in February

Vauxhall Corsa continued success comes on back of being UK’s best-selling supermini in 2022 and best-selling car overall in 2021

Vauxhall has the two best-selling cars in the UK in February, with the award-winning Vauxhall Corsa reclaiming its place as the UK’s best-selling car, and the Vauxhall Mokka as the second-most registered car in the month, according to the latest vehicle registration figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

With 2,818 new Corsas registered in February, it has reclaimed its crown as not just UK’s best-selling supermini, but the best-selling new car in the country, with a total of 5,243 units registered so far in 2023.   

Car’s continued strong popularity with both private and fleet buyers comes on the back of three consecutive years of strong showings for the Corsa. With 35,910 units sold in 2022, it finished last year as the UK’s favourite supermini, while it was the country’s best-selling car overall in 2021.

With 1,805 sold in February, Vauxhall Mokka joins Corsa at the top of the sales charts, being the second-best selling car in the country for February and the best-selling compact crossover (B-SUV). Both the Mokka and Corsa are available to buyers as fully electric variants – Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric.

Vauxhall’s electrification strategy includes a commitment to be a fully-electric brand by 2028. It is also one of the few manufacturers in the country able to offer fleets and private buyers an electric van across its entire model range.

Both the Vauxhall Corsa and Mokka are available with efficient petrol engines as well as with a fully electric powertrain. Using the multi-powertrain CMP platform, the electric variants of these cars are powered by a 50 kWh battery and a 136 PS (100 kW) electric motor. Capable of supporting up to 100 kW rapid charging, an 80% charge for both takes just 30 minutes to complete. Corsa Electric has a range of 222 miles (WLTP) while Mokka Electric can reach up to 209 miles (WTLP) on a full charge.

Preparations for the second season of the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup are entering the home straight before the battle for points resumes at the ADAC Actronics Rally in Sulingen from May 6. The world’s first electric one-make rally cup is even better positioned for the 2022 season than it was in its successful debut year. Opel Corsa-e Rally was optimised with detail improvements over the winter. A newly developed multi-disc limited slip differential increases the traction of the 100 kW/136 hp electric rally car and upgraded software improves the thermal management of the 50-kilowatt-hour battery. In addition, a modified sound system enhances the acoustic appeal of the electric rally car.

Attractive schedule with seven rounds in the German Rally Championship (DRM) as well as guest outings in Austria, France and the Netherlands is enhanced by the very international field of participants. German rally aces face competitors from six other nations. With Germans Lukas Thiele, Christian Lemke, Joe Baur, Max Reiter and Alexander Kattenbach as well as the Dutch veteran Timo van der Marel, six ”old hands” go into their second e-Cup year. Timo Schulz (22) makes his debut in the Corsa-e Rally with the support of ADAC Saarland.

They all face ambitious newcomers such as Swede Calle Carlberg and Finn Kalle Markanen, both of whom are competing for the experienced Schmack Motorsport team. With 22-year-old Luca Pröglhöf from Sittendorf, a promising young Austrian talent will compete with the Opel Austria Corsa-e Rally entered by Stohl Racing. Dutchman Jari van Hoof got such a taste for the sport at last year's Sachsen Rally that he will contest a full Cup season in 2022 in the racing team of his mentor Timo van der Marel. And last year's champion team Saintéloc Racing from France goes to the start with 30-year-old Romanian Cristiana Oprea, the only female driver in the illustrious field.

Two Opel Corsa-e Rally from England in Cup plus VIP vehicle from TotalEnergies

Two highly interesting new entries come from the United Kingdom. British Opel sister brand Vauxhall is entering a Corsa-e Rally, which will be piloted by rotating guest drivers. Excitement is being stirred up by the second British vehicle, which is even sponsored by the British government. The project is driven by Simon Moss, who teaches motorsport management at Myerscough College in Bilsborrow, Lancashire and uses the innovative concept of the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup as a showcase for his studies.

In addition, TotalEnergies' VIP car will be used at selected events as a rally taxi and course car or with guest drivers in competition. Global technology partner of the Stellantis Group is increasing its involvement in the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup this season.

Vauxhall Corsa-e Ultimate

Vauxhall has updated both the Corsa and Mokka model ranges by introducing its new simplified version line-up as well as enhanced pricing making two of its most popular models more appealing than ever.  With orders open from early April, the revised Corsa model range will start from £17,340 OTR and the Mokka from £22,265 OTR, with first customer deliveries expected from August.   

The new range comprises of three versions: Design, GS Line and Ultimate:

Design – features Vauxhall’s ‘Bold and Pure’ styling and driver assistance tech

GS Line – combines striking sports styling, inside and out, with advanced comfort and convenience technology

Ultimate – combines an evolution of the GS Line styling with even more premium technologies

New three version line-up is designed to make it easier than ever for customers to choose the right version for them.

Easy to shop – simplified range structure comes with simplified price walks between versions making it easier to understand the value of each version

Strong specification - from entry level, including visual elements of Vauxhall’s new ‘Bold and Pure’ design language, including alloy wheels, classing-leading driver assistance technology and the new ‘Vauxhall Vizor’ brand face on the Mokka and Mokka-e.

Innovative technology at an affordable price – a number of versions have been substantially reduced in price (by up to £3,290) meaning that premium technology is even more accessible than before.

Both the Corsa and Mokka will now be available in Design, GS Line, and Ultimate trim specification, while the 100% electric Corsa-e and Mokka-e will be available in sporty GS Line and Ultimate variants.

New trim line-up has also enabled Vauxhall to streamline the overall number of Corsa and Mokka variants available to customers, making it more transparent to understand the differences between vehicles. The Corsa model range has been streamlined from 15 models to eight, while the Corsa-e has been reduced from three models to two. Mokka sees the version line-up reduced from 16 to 11, while Mokka-e will go from four to two.

All-electric Vauxhall Corsa-e made up nearly one-in-seven of all Corsas sold last year and is now available in sporty GS Line and Ultimate variants. GS Line replaces previous SRi Premium variants, while Ultimate replaces previous Elite Premium models. Streamlining from previously three variants to two reflects the market demand for the Corsa-e, with customers preferring higher specification trim models.

Corsa-e models will now come standard with Vauxhall’s e-toggle shifter already available on the Mokka-e, replacing the previous ‘cobra’ shifter. The new control allows drivers to select between reverse, neutral and drive, while a Brake (B) button allows drivers to increase energy recovery via the regenerative braking technology.

Both GS Line and Ultimate Corsa-e models retain identical equipment and technology levels to their outgoing trims, with prices remaining the same. Corsa-e GS Line prices start £27,055 OTR after the current Government Plug-in Car Grant, while Ultimate models start from £29,660.

Importantly, all Corsa-e and Mokka-e models remain eligible for the £1,500 Government Plug-in Car Grant.

As part of its electric vehicle strategy, Vauxhall has worked to ensure Corsa-e variants are more cost efficient to own in the long run over petrol and diesel variants of the Corsa – helping owners offset the higher initial purchase price.

Corsa was the UK’s best-selling new car in 2021 with more than 40,000 models sold. From April, Corsa Design models replace previous SE Edition variants and feature the same equipment and technology, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Speed Sign Recognition, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 7-inch infotainment screen. Prices for Corsa Design variants start from £17,340 OTR, resulting in a £500 price reduction over the outgoing model.

Sporty GS Line replaces previous SRi Edition models and come with new 17-inch black wheels that replace previous 17-inch bi-colour wheels. GS Line features include climate control, rear parking sensors and black exterior styling.  New for GS Line models will also be Vauxhall’s efficient 1.2-litre (75PS) three-cylinder petrol engine, previously unavailable on SRi Edition models. This entry level powertrain means that the GS Line Corsa starts from £19,490 OTR.  Other GS Line versions see a £1,000 price reduction compared to before. 

Corsa Ultimate variants remain identical to the current Ultimate range, however, the pricing has been significantly enhanced so it now starts from £23,375 OTR – a £3,150 saving over the previous line-up.  The Ultimate comes with premium features such as adaptive cruise control, lane positioning assist, IntelliLux Adaptive LED Matrix lights, front parking sensors, panoramic rear-view camera, keyless entry, Alcantara trim and heated seats and steering wheel.

Vauxhall Mokka Ultimate

Vauxhall Mokka was the first model to feature Vauxhall’s new ‘Vizor’ front end and Pure Panel interior – features since seen on all new Vauxhall models, including the All-New Astra. The 100% electric Mokka-e is available in GS Line and in Ultimate models, with both models priced equally to their outgoing variants.

As with Corsa-e, Vauxhall has worked to ensure the Mokka-e range achieves total cost of ownership savings for owners over its petrol and diesel counterparts.

Petrol and diesel Mokka range starts from entry level Design which is identical to outgoing SE Edition variants, but now also available with a 1.2-litre 130PS 6-speed manual and a 1.2-litre 130PS 8-speed automatic. With more choice of engines, the Mokka Design range starts from £22,265 OTR – identical to the outgoing SE Edition.  Standard features on the entry level Mokka include lane departure warning, lane keep assist, speed sign recognition, auto emergency braking, cruise control, automatic lights & wipers, high beam assist, LED headlights & tail lights, Pure Panel twin 7-inch screens and Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity. 

GS Line models replace outgoing SRi Premium variants, with the equipment level reflecting customer demand in the sector. GS Line features include the striking two-tone styling with 18-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, black roof and mirrors and sports bodykit.  Climate control, keyless start and power folding door mirrors, rear parking sensors and the upgraded Pure Panel with 10-inch driver and 12-inch infotainment screens.  Mokka GS Line versions now start from £24,640 OTR – £1,500 lower than before. 

Ultimate models are now available with a 1.2-litre 130PS 6-speed manual option, previously unavailable on the trim, with the range starting from £28,825 OTR, with Mokka Ultimate range also upgraded with Alcantara seat trim.  Ultimate versions also include keyless entry and start, IntelliLux LED Matrix adaptive headlights, advanced park assist, blind spot alert, adaptive cruise control and lane positioning assist.

Vauxhall’s new line-up is continuing to grow in popularity in the retail car market as the British brand registered the largest private market share growth of any manufacturer so far this year, according to the latest new car registration figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). 

Vauxhall has grown its private car sales market share from 4.06% to 6.22% versus the same period last year. The 2.16 percentage point market share increase is the highest of all manufacturers in the UK and comes as Vauxhall continues to offer new models, and a new simplified trim structure, across its line-up. Award-winning Corsa and Corsa-e were joined by the all-new Mokka and Mokka-e last year, featuring a bold new design and interior.

Vauxhall sales totalled 23,898 vehicles year-to-date (YTD) and represented 5.72% of the new car market. 

Both the Corsa and Mokka were among the highest-selling vehicles in their segments during the crucial March plate change month, with Vauxhall selling more than 12,800 cars in March across both private and fleet buyers.

Corsa remained the best-selling B-segment car in the UK, with 5,515 models sold in March, and 9,797 YTD – making it the best-selling car so far in 2022, having been the number one vehicle last year.  The Mokka is also in the UK’s top ten best sellers, at ninth place, with 7,395 sold YTD.

It starts even before the journey: if you want to climb straight into a comfortably preheated car and drive off in winter, the battery-electric Opel Mokka-e is the right choice. Owners of the e‑car can use the myOpel app to programme pre-heating of interior from comfort of their couch before setting off. Within a few minutes, car cabin not only reaches a comfortable temperature, but the windows are also ice-free in frosty conditions.

At the same time, efficient energy management is necessary, especially in winter, to keep Opel Mokka-e’s energy consumption low and the range high. To do this, simply switch on the pre-temperature control while Opel e-car is connected to the external power supply via a household socket, a wallbox or a fast charger. This way, the energy required for heating comes from the external power supply and the full electric range of up to 338 kilometres (according to WLTP 1) is available at the start. Thanks to the heat pump fitted as standard, waste and lost heat generated can be used to heat the interior without having to switch on a conventional heating, which would compromise range.

You can simply sit back and enjoy drive. Multi-adjustable, optionally heated comfort seats are a feel-good, health and safety feature all in one. This means that no thick clothing restricts freedom of movement and the seat belt can be fitted snugly to the body without any slack – this is the only way it can develop its full protective effect in the event of a collision. Agility and road holding of the Opel Mokka-e are additional benefits in hilly terrain. Battery is installed in the underbody for a particularly low centre of gravity. So the car seems to corner as if on rails. The “Golden Steering Wheel 2021” 2 winner is powered by a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor. While internal combustion engine models first have to get back up to speed out of tight hairpin bends, electric SUV has 260 Nm of torque at its disposal even from a standstill – guaranteeing driving fun on serpentine roads.

Opel Mokka-e also distinguished by its talents for energy recuperation and deceleration. Electric motor becomes a generator and converts the kinetic energy of descent into electricity. If the driver shifts into drive mode B, recuperation and deceleration is increased. 50 kWh battery is recharged at zero cost – and energy saved for the next ascent.

With all these technologies, Opel Mokka-e drivers and passengers can set off into the snow-covered mountains in comfort, efficiently and emissions-free, with lots of driving fun before they hit the slopes.

E for emissions-free: Opel with Consistent Focus on Electrification

Opel is continuing to consistently roll out its electrification offensive in the New Year. Eleven Opel models will be electrified by mid-2022 – including Opel’s entire light commercial vehicle (LCV) range. En route to an emissions-free fleet, some models will exclusively be offered as battery-electric variants this year already. Customers can now order the Opel Combo Life, Vivaro Combi and Zafira Life exclusively with an electric drive. In Germany, the state and manufacturers jointly subsidise the purchase of electric cars with up to €9,000. Innovation bonus is still valid in this form until the end of 2022. A corresponding application for the environmental bonus must be submitted to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).

“There is no alternative to electrification. In the future, Opel will gain even more traction with environmentally friendly innovations. And what shows us the rapid change again very clearly: From 2024, we will offer an electrified version of every Opel model, without exception. In other words, the successors to Opel Crossland and Opel Insignia will also be electrified. Our statement is clear: From 2028, we will exclusively sell battery-electric vehicles in Europe,” said Opel CEO Uwe Hochgeschurtz.

New Opel Astra Hybrid

In the coming months, the new generation of the Opel Astra will be the linchpin of the Rüsselsheim-based brand’s electrification offensive. After celebrating its premiere in September 2021, all-new Opel Astra five-door will arrive at customers in the spring – and will be available as a plug-in hybrid right from the start. In 2023, the purely battery-electric Opel Astra-e will complete the range. Emissions-free product portfolio with the Blitz already ranges from the Opel Rocks-e lightweight vehicle to the large Opel Movano-e van.

Opel Combo-e Life and the Opel Zafira-e Life are already very successful in the market. Both MPVs are powered by a 100 kW/136 hp electric motor. With its 50 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Combo-e-Life achieves a range of up to 280 kilometres in accordance with the WLTP 1, depending on the driving profile, outside temperature and use. When necessary, it takes around only 30 minutes for the battery to reach 80 per cent state-of-charge at a public DC fast charging station.

With the large Opel Zafira-e Life, the customer can choose between a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery (231 kilometres range according to WLTP 1) and a battery with 75 kWh for a first-class range of up to 329 kilometres according to WLTP 1. Opel Zafira-e Life is available in three vehicle lengths with space for up to nine people.

In addition to plug-in hybrid and battery-electric models, Opel can also already offer a plug-in fuel cell electric vehicle. Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN is based on the existing battery electric Opel Vivaro-e, the “International Van of the Year 2021”. Newcomer has a fuel cell drive combined with a plug-in battery and with full tanks of hydrogen, the driving range is more than 400 kilometres (WLTP 1). First Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN off the production line will begin its emissions-free work in the fleet of the German manufacturer of premium domestic appliances, Miele.

However, Opel is not only on the way to a CO2-neutral future with its models and drive alternatives – something the brand is currently proving at several locations. This year, Opel and Stellantis are pushing ahead with the plans to build the battery cell gigafactory in Kaiserslautern. And in Rüsselsheim, the project is taking shape to transform the Opel headquarters into a green campus as the future German headquarters of Stellantis.

New Opel Combo-e Life

All charged up and heading for a driveway near you soon – Opel announces the new Combo-e Life battery electric vehicle! Highly versatile and practical, with a huge amount of interior space, the all-electric leisure activity vehicle (LAV) from the German carmaker comes with either one or two sliding side doors and is available as a 4.4-metre-long standard or 4.75 m XL version, both with either five or seven seats. Depending on the driving profile and the prevailing conditions, the new Combo-e Life can drive up to 280 kilometres on a single charge of its 50 kWh lithium-ion battery (WLTP) 1. Owners can “refill” the battery to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes at public charging stations.

Young families with multi-faceted lifestyles, who live in or near towns or cities, must transport several children and also want “green mobility”, will especially appreciate the Opel Combo-e Life. The new electric car from the brand with the Blitz even features a towing capacity of 750 kg 2 – class-leading in this market segment – with the option of trailer stability control.

Electric drive: Clean mobility for cross-country as well as downtown

Thanks to 100 kW (136 hp) and 260 Nm of torque from the electric propulsion system, the Combo-e Life is perfect also for the open road. Depending on the model variant, the leisure activity vehicle accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in only 11.2 seconds 3, while the 130-km/h maximum speed (electronically limited) makes the LAV “autobahn-proof”. A sophisticated regenerative braking system with two user-selectable settings further increases efficiency.

Battery with 216 cells and 18 modules is packaged under the floor between the front and rear axles, so that it does not compromise usage of the passenger compartment. In this location, the battery lowers the centre of gravity as well, which benefits wind stability and cornering, for additional driving fun.

Opel Combo-e Life is ready for a variety of energy infrastructures and charging options, ranging from wall box to fast charging or even a cable for charging from a domestic plug socket if necessary. Using a 100 kW DC public charging station, charging of the 50 kWh battery to 80 per cent takes only around 30 minutes. Depending on the market and infrastructure, the Combo-e Life features a powerful three-phase 11 kW on-board charger or a single-phase 7.4 kW on-board charger as standard.

Best in class: Extensive list of ultra-modern driver assistance systems

Along with its petrol and diesel engine siblings that were crowned “Best Buy Car Europe 2019” by AUTOBEST, the zero-emission Combo-e Life also makes no compromises on safety, comfort or convenience. The comprehensive portfolio of class-leading technologies and driver assistance systems extends from hill descent control, lane keep assist and driver drowsiness alert, to traffic sign recognition and forward collision alert with pedestrian protection and automatic emergency braking.

Particularly helpful for parking is the Panorama Rear View camera that increases vision to the rear and to the sides. Owners needing extra traction on mud, sand or snow can upgrade the Combo-e Life with the IntelliGrip electronic traction control system.

Opel offers the Combo-e Life in two lengths (4.40 m and 4.75 m as the XL model variant) with five or seven seats, which also makes it an attractive car for taxi firms. Shorter five-seater offers at least 597 litres of boot space (850 litres in the longer version). Multifunctional everyday hero almost displays “freighter” qualities with the rear seats folded down. Luggage volume of the short version then more than triples to 2,126 litres, while the longer one can carry up to 2,693 litres. In addition, the optional front passenger dump-latch seat folds flush with the rear seats, extending the length of the loading area so that even surfboards can be transported.

Heavens above: Panorama roof with electric sunblind plus overhead storage

With the luggage safely stowed away, the optional panorama roof allows passengers to star-gaze or lap up the sun’s rays. If the sun is too strong, an electric sunblind – activated via a switch in the overhead console – can be closed to provide protection. When open, the panorama roof also improves the feeling of space even further while simultaneously creating a pleasant and light ambience. When ordered with the panoramic roof, Opel Combo-e Life comes with overhead storage running down the centre of the vehicle with LED lighting as standard. In this configuration the newcomer is also fitted with a large 36‑litre storage box mounted above the hat tray in the boot.

Owners of both variants can choose between the standard second row bench with 60/40 split or three individual seats, which can be folded conveniently from the boot. In both cases, each seating position has its own Isofix child seat bracket as standard, allowing for three child seats to be fitted next to each other.

When everyone is sitting comfortably, they can enjoy the Combo-e Life’s infotainment. The Multimedia Radio and Multimedia Navi Pro systems come with a large 8.0-inch touchscreen and top connectivity. Both feature phone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

E-services: Charging the Opel Combo-e Life throughout Europe is as easy as pie

In order to make living with the Combo-e Life as comfortable as possible, “OpelConnect”, the “myOpel” app and “Free2Move” offer special solutions for electric vehicles. Services are accessible via apps.

The “Charge My Car” function from the “Free2Move” app enables access to more than 220,000 charging points throughout Europe, including payment. The “Free2Move” app makes a preselection based on the distance to the charging point, the charging speed and the current charging price of the possible public charging options.

The “OpelConnect” portfolio ranges from eCall and breakdown calls to numerous other services, such as vehicle status and information. LIVE Navigation 4 provides online traffic information in real time.

New Opel Combo-e Life will show up at dealerships this autumn, joining the Corsa-e, Mokka-e, Grandland X plug-in hybrid and Zafira-e Life as the newest member of Opel’s electrified passenger car range. Including the next-generation Astra as well as the Vivaro‑e, Combo-e and Movano-e light commercial vehicles (LCV), the brand will have nine electrified models in its portfolio by the end of this year. Opel will offer an electrified version of every passenger car and LCV model by 2024.

Development of Opel Corsa-e Rally Underway

Opel Corsa-e Rally 

Comprehensive development programme of the Opel Corsa-e Rally for the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup is proceeding at full speed. Two examples of the battery-electric rally car are currently undergoing durability testing at the Dudenhofen Test Centre. “We have two objectives”, said Opel Motorsport Director, Jörg Schrott. “Both cars are covering as many kilometres as possible, in order to gather the maximum amount of data at an early stage. There is no experience of an electric rally car that we could turn to, so initially we had to rely on calculations and simulations. These are being gradually replaced with real data. Other focuses are on loads and temperature management of the battery under rally conditions, as well as adapting the software. I am pleased to report that our programme is going smoothly.”

While the power output is almost the same, 260 Nm of torque is much higher than the Opel ADAM Cup’s.

Engineers at Opel Motorsport will turn to the speed of the 100 kW (136 hp) electric rally car in the second phase of development. “With a brand cup car, it is important that the performance remains constant and accessible under all conditions. The equipment should guarantee equal opportunity for all participants”, said Jörg Schrott. “We also decided that the Corsa-e Rally should match and exceed the high standards of its petrol-engine predecessor, Opel ADAM Cup. We are on the right road here too. While the power output is almost the same, 260 Nm of torque is much higher than the Opel ADAM Cup’s. Centre of gravity is low, thanks to the underfloor-mounted battery, and the weight distribution is also very good, which is extremely important for an agile competition car. Now we need to find the most balanced chassis setup, so in January we will start simulating some real rally stages.”

Engineers at Opel Motorsport will turn to the speed of the 100 kW (136 hp) electric rally car in the second phase of development. 

As soon as development of the Opel Corsa-e Rally has been completed, a reference car will be built that will also serve as the template for customer vehicles. Around 20 examples are expected to be built for the 2020/21 season, up to 15 will be delivered to customer teams in the summer – in time for the first test event in July.

Ideal setup: drive modes for rally stages and road sections

Opel Corsa-e Rally has the same battery as the production car. 50 kWh energy storage capacity enables a range of 337 km according to WLTP. In order to optimise the range for rallying, the battery offers three modes: in “competition mode”, full power and maximum torque are available. Electric cars have especially high torque, so the “rain mode” gives a torque curve adapted to slippery surfaces. Teams will use the energy-saving “eco mode” between stages and for driving to service.

Opel goes electric. With the all-new, sixth generation Corsa, the German carmaker is offering for the first time a battery-electric version with a range of 330 kilometres (WLTP, provisional figure). Opel has chosen the brand’s most popular model to finally bring electric mobility out of its niche-existence. Opel Corsa is an absolute bestseller. More than 13.6 million units have been produced since the world premiere in 1982. Opel Corsa has made millions of people mobile; now it is offering them access to emission-free driving. Order books for the sixth-generation Opel Corsa will open in a few weeks, beginning with the Opel Corsa-e, followed by the diesel and petrol versions.

Impressive data: 100kW (136hp) power output, 330 km range

Opel has been producing cars for 120 years and has always made technology available to a wide audience of car buyers. New Opel Corsa-e offers state-of-the-art electric mobility. With a range of 330 km according to WLTP, five-seat Opel Corsa-e is suitable for unconstrained every-day use. 50 kWh battery can be fast-charged to 80 per cent of its capacity in 30 minutes. Opel Corsa-e is prepared for all charging options – via cable, wallbox or high-speed charging – and the battery is covered by an eight-year warranty. State-of-charge can be checked with the “myOpel” app, so that charging times and costs can be optimized at all times.

Furthermore, the range can be adapted by the driver, who can choose from three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport. Sport increases responsiveness and driving dynamics, with a moderate loss of driving range. In Eco mode Opel Corsa-e becomes a long-distance runner, significantly increasing the range while hardly affecting comfort.

Opel Corsa-e’s propulsion system combines emission-free driving with a maximum “fun-to-drive” factor. Thanks to the 100 kW (136 hp) power output and a maximum 260 Nm of instantaneous torque, the highlights include responsiveness, agility and dynamic performance. Opel Corsa-e needs only 2.8 seconds to sprint from zero to 50 km/h, only 8.1 seconds from zero to 100 km/h – a match for sports cars.

Opel Corsa-e also looks dynamic thanks to its sporty design, while the compact exterior dimensions of previous generations are retained. With a length of 4.06 metres Opel Corsa remains an agile, practical and well-arranged five-seater. Roof line is coupé-like, 48 mm lower than its predecessor’s, without detriment to headroom. Driver sits 28mm lower. Handling and driving dynamics benefit from the lower centre of gravity. Handling is responsive and dynamic, for more fun behind the steering wheel. Modern interior with fully digitalised cockpit can even be upgraded with leather seats.

Safety first: IntelliLux LED Matrix light, side blind-spot assist, flank guard

All-New Opel Corsa-e: IntelliLux LED Matrix light

Technologies and assistance systems that are more often found in higher market segments make their debut in the Opel Corsa-e. The top features include the adaptive, glare-free IntelliLux LED Matrix light that Opel offers for the first time in the small car segment. Eight LED elements, controlled by a newest-generation high-resolution front camera, continuously adapt light beam to the prevailing traffic situation and the surroundings. Advanced driver assistance systems provide tangible additional safety. Thanks to the new front camera traffic sign recognition now detects additional information, such as LED signs. Speed limits saved in the system are also shown in the display.

Radar supported adaptive speed control and sensor-based flank-guard celebrate their premiere in the new  Opel Corsa. Side blind-spot assist and a variety of parking assistants are also available.

Multimedia systems with Opel Connect telematics service

New infotainment systems keep the new Opel Corsa’s drivers and passenger fully connected. Multimedia Navi with 7.0 inch colour touchscreen, as well as the top-of-the-line Multimedia Navi Pro with 10.0 inch colour touchscreen, also offer the new “Opel Connect” telematics service. Helpful functions, such as Live Navigation with real-time traffic information, as well as direct connection with roadside assistance and emergency call, give additional peace of mind to drivers and passengers.
