After the success of the Opel Corsa YES, customers who want to stand out from the crowd even more can now also do so with their very special Opel Mokka. With this, Opel is adding further flavour to the Mokka range after already introducing the highly dynamic top-of-the-line Mokka GSE.

At the same time, we are increasing the selection for all those who want to make a personal, extra-stylish statement with their vehicle. Like its Corsa counterpart, the new Opel Mokka YES also relies on strong colours and attractive series extras. The special edition is recognisable at first glance thanks to the unusual Koral Orange paint finish. The interior design is specially matched to the unmistakable colour. The decors around the instrument panel, the seat inserts as well as the stitching in seats and doors also shine in radiant orange. On the outside, the standard black 17-inch alloy wheels, the black roof and the matching lower front, side and rear areas, as well as the optional black bonnet, provide a characteristic contrast and an independent appearance. Those who prefer to set accents with a different paint finish, can alternatively choose from the colour palette of the GS line with a matching interior.

Comfort in the Opel Mokka YES is increased by standard additional features such as the six-way adjustable front seats and the armrest between driver and front passenger. All the necessary information is provided by the 10-inch driver information display and the 10-inch multimedia infotainment system’s colour touchscreen. Smartphones can be connected wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Parking and manoeuvring in the city is made easier by the reversing camera, which is also standard. Privacy and protection from sunlight in the rear are provided by the dark-tinted rear windows.

In addition, various packages are on offer that further enhance the new Opel Mokka YES. While the tech packages include features such as front parking assist or adaptive cruise control, the infotainment package has integrated navigation with over-the-air updates, natural voice recognition and wireless charger. The comfort package offers, among other things, a double load floor and the winter package features heated front seats and steering wheel.

Opel Mokka YES customers can choose from three drivetrains. The locally emissions-free Opel Mokka Electric YES offers 115 kW (156 hp) and the hybrid version comes with 107 kW (145 hp) and electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Alternatively, a classic 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 100 kW (136 hp) is also available.

The Opel GSE Formula E Team has signed its first driver: Sophia Flörsch will join the German factory team as a test and development driver as it enters the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The 25-year-old German will make her first public appearance on April 21 and 22, when the new GEN4 cars of the all-electric series will be officially presented in France.

"With Sophia's signing, we at Opel are sending a clear signal for the consistent promotion of young talents in electric motorsport. Her precise technical feedback as well as her analytical way of working in the simulator and on the track will play an essential role in the further development of our GEN4 package," said Team Principal Jörg Schrott. "At the same time, her fresh approach fits perfectly with our OMG! GSE campaign, with which we present the emotional side of our all-electric high-performance models. We combine targeted talent promotion with high sporting standards and thus strengthen the visibility of a new generation in motorsport that combines sporting performance with public presence."   

Sophia Flörsch: Successful driver with team spirit and ambitions

Sophia Flörsch began her career in karting before moving up to motor racing in 2015 and making a splash in the British Ginetta Junior Championship as the youngest winner. Through stints in the ADAC Formula 4, the European Formula 3 Championship and the Formula Regional European Championship, she established herself in single-seater racing and made history by becoming the first woman to score points and podium finishes in both the German Formula 4 and later in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. In the years that followed, she successfully continued her career in prototype and GT racing, finished on the podium in the European Le Mans Series, finished in the top 10 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) – and is now considered one of the most prominent women in international motorsport.

"Formula E is currently the toughest racing series in the world – and that's exactly where Opel and I are now competing together. The fact that a brand with 125 years of motorsport DNA is now taking the step into a world championship is impressive. When Formula E, manufacturers and teams present the GEN4 all-electric racing cars in Le Castellet in a few days, Sophia Flörsch will be at the wheel of the Opel race car. The 25-year-old racing driver from Munich has already reeled off her first kilometres in the GEN4 in the simulator and got to know the Opel family during a visit to the Opel headquarters in Rüsselsheim. Flörsch will be firmly involved in the test programme with immediate effect, supporting the team in development and simulator work and gaining targeted experience in the new Opel Formula E race car in the rookie sessions.

Opel talent promotion: First electric one-make rally cup as a springboard

Opel has a long-standing tradition of consistent talent development in motorsport, ranging from classic rally and circuit racing to all-electric rallying. With the ADAC GSE Rally Cup and its predecessor series, Opel has been opening a clear path to promotion to the European Junior Rally Championship for young drivers since 2013. This approach has already produced several titles and is now being continued at world championship level with the Opel GSE Formula E Team.

At the same time, Opel is also bringing the all-electric rally feeling to the road for customers. This is ensured by the production version of the Mokka GSE Rally, the new Opel Mokka GSE. With the official announcement of its entry into the Formula E World Championship, Opel is taking its commitment to electric motorsport to the next level. The Rüsselsheim-based brand has also made an important personnel decision for the ‘Opel GSE Formula E Team’: Jörg Schrott will take on the role of Team Principal. The brand with the Blitz emblem is thus relying on a proven leader for its next step in all-electric motorsport: Schrott has been part of the Opel family since 1997 and has been responsible for the brand's motorsport activities as Motorsport Director since 2012. Aschaffenburg-born Schrott made his first appearance in his new role during the Formel E race in Madrid, when Opel CEO Florian Huettl announced the new chapter in the brand's traditional and successful motorsport history.

“Jörg Schrott has been a defining personality of our brand for many years and has launched numerous successful motorsport projects. We are particularly proud that he is the driving force behind the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup, which gives young talents access to electric racing. Precisely because Jörg has proven how to break new ground with courage and pioneering spirit, he is the perfect choice to take on the role of Team Principal of the Opel GSE Formula E Team in addition to his responsibility as Motorsport Director," said Florian Huettl.

Formative Opel personality with motorsport drive and claim to success

Jörg Schrott has been shaping motorsport at Opel since 1997: As the first employee of the then newly founded Opel Performance Center (OPC), he was significantly involved in the development of the brand's performance production vehicles and racing activities and took over the management of Opel Motorsport in 2012. Under his leadership, Opel became an integral part of international circuit and rally racing, including six Junior European Championship titles – the result of a consistent promotion of young talents who advanced to the European Rally Championship after successes in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup. The world's first all-electric rally one-make cup, now renamed as ‘ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup’, will kick off its new season at the end of May with the drivers competing in the new Opel Mokka GSE Rally. Long before his motorsport commitments, Jörg Schrott was responsible for other management positions at Opel – including Head of Product Communications and Head of Corporate Communications – and thus also brings extensive experience in brand management, media relations and strategic positioning to his new role as Team Principal of the Opel GSE Formula E Team.

The official announcement of Opel's entry into Formula E marked the start of an impressive race weekend in Spain. Florian Huettl and Opel Marketing Director Rebecca Reinermann, together with Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds, presented Opel’s plans to international media representatives, celebrating their first official appearance in the paddock of the World Championship. On the Saturday of the race, 30,000 spectators – including Spain's King Felipe VI – watched the Formula E debut in Madrid live at the track.

The brand with the Blitz attracted a lot of interest with its new battery-electric models Opel Mokka GSE Rally and Opel Mokka GSE as well as the extraordinary show car for adventure seekers, the Opel Frontera GRAVEL. A look at the trio was enough to create the proverbial OMG! feeling. Furthermore, Opel once again demonstrated that it has always sent the pulses of motorsport fans racing. The German brand also displayed an Opel Vectra B racing car from the Opel Classic collection.

At the Lausitzring, the new Opel Mokka GSE Rally was in its element at the weekend. Eleswhere, a completely different Opel celebrated its second XS Carnight appearance at the Lausitzring: the Opel Frontera GRAVEL. The bold, all-electric show car had already caused a stir at its first public appearance at the XS Carnight on Lake Wörthersee in the spring. Now the adventurous version of the family-friendly SUV Frontera thrilled visitors to XS Cars'n'Coffee. The exterior design of the Frontera GRAVEL already awakens the desire to head off the beaten track thanks to its characteristic paintwork and foiling. The matt black roof and the matt black bonnet contrast with the ‘Desert Stone’ foil uniquely selected for Opel Frontera GRAVEL. Additional orange accents are provided by the exterior mirror housings, front and rear bumpers, spoiler and the Opel Blitz in the black Opel Vizor.

The rugged look is further enhanced by a front-mounted winch and hook, side storage boxes at the rear, and a robust lattice-style roof rack designed to maximise gear-carrying capacity for all adventures. Three-Way Battle for the Title in the Season Finale of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’

• Sixth round of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup at the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg

Fabian Kamermans secured his first victory in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’ at the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg with a dominant performance and thanks to a perfect tyre choice. After twelve special stages over around 108 kilometres, the Dutchman and his co-driver Stefan Müller were 11.1 seconds ahead of the German duo of Kilian Nierenz and Milena Raithel. The Bavarians, for their part, pipped Spaniards Alex "Sito" Español and Borja Odriozola by a mere 1.7 seconds. Español thus increased its lead in the overall standings over the Belgian Tom Heindrichs by eight points. The brother of World Rally Champion Thierry Neuville and his co-driver Jonas Schmitz finished fourth in the asphalt rally around Lübbecke.

At the season finale from October 16 to 19 as part of the Central European Rally, which is part of the World Rally Championship, three drivers still have a chance of winning the title: Español leads Heindrichs by twelve points, while Nierenz is 29 points behind and has to hope that his rivals are off the pace. At the World Championship round around Passau, a maximum of 35 points are still up for grabs.

The right choice of tyres sets the course for victory at the Rally Stemweder Berg

A preliminary decision for victory at the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg, which is part of the German Rally Championship, was already made in the third special stage on Friday evening. As the only ones in the field, Kamermans/Müller had the right nose and put their Opel Corsa Rally Electric on rain tyres. Promptly, it began to rain immediately before the start of the stage, whereupon the Dutch duo built a significant lead of 18.6 seconds.

But even after that, Kamermans did not merely manage his lead but consolidated his advantage with three more special stage best times. “The first win feels great. Of course, the perfect tyre choice on Friday evening played into our hands. It was clear that we had to keep our concentration and still continue to attack. In the second stage on Saturday morning, we had a real moment of shock, but then we approached the rest of the rally as if it had only just begun. That was the key to this victory. To win here after the last rally, in which pretty much everything went wrong, is just great," said Kamermans.

Even though his title chances are likely to be only mathematical in nature, Kilian Nierenz was highly satisfied with second place, the fourth podium finish this season: “We started the rally perfectly with two best times. The rain on Friday evening surprised us as much as everyone except Fabi. He was simply smarter there. On the second day I made a few mistakes, so we are all the more happy about this second place. It was close, it was exciting, and it was a lot of fun again. Our goal now is to secure third place overall at the finale."

Third-placed Alex Español set three stage best times, including those in the final Power Stage, and was pleased with the increased lead in the overall standings: “Like most others, we made the wrong tyre call on Friday evening. So the plan for the second day was clear: full attack, take as many points as possible. That worked out great, and the fact that we were able to win the Power Stage at the end and take the five bonus points gave us a little more breathing space in the standings. Nevertheless, we will go into the Central European Rally fully focused, as we have done in all previous rallies. Because that's the only way you can win the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup."

As part of the development program, Opel racing legend Volker Strycek once again piloted the new 207 kW (281) hp Opel Mokka GSE Rally as the lead vehicle over the special stages of the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg. The electric powerhouse is the first rally car being developed according to the FIA eRally5 regulations, which come into force in 2026.

For the second time after the 2024 Mont-Blanc Morzine Rally, Dr. Gerd Ennser took part in a Cup race. Alternating with his son Fabian, the ADAC sports president drove an Opel Corsa Rally Electric as a preceding vehicle and enjoyed the experience: "The ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup is unique. For the ADAC, it is important that electrification in motorsport progresses. I've been a big rally fan since I was young and always thrilled when I have the opportunity to be active in a rally car myself. I'm not as competitive as the boys anymore – but it's still a lot of fun!"

First and foremost, fun will also be the focus of a prominent guest driver in three weeks. As part of the season finale of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup, Fabian Vettel (26) will make his rally debut. The brother of four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel will share the Corsa Rally Electric with experienced co-driver Gino Kruhs at the Central European Rally.

Alternatively, they can buy the fastest battery-electric production Opel car at an attractive price of €47,300. Full electric power: 207 kW (281 hp), 200 km/h and GSE technology for the road

Above all, the new Opel Mokka GSE impresses with its strong performance. With a peak output of 207 kW (281 hp), the now available serial production electric car is just as powerful as its motorsport counterpart Opel Mokka GSE Rally. And with an immediate torque of 345 Newton meters, it accelerates just as uncompromisingly. From a standing start it can reach 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds – and with a top speed of 200 km/h, it is the fastest all-electric serial Opel car. Elsewhere, Mokka GSE drivers can choose from the three distinct drive modes ‘Sport’, ‘Normal’ and ‘Eco’. The Mokka GSE stores its energy in a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery.

Its sophisticated technology, which was also inspired by the rally prototype, also contributes to the exceptional performance. For example, Opel Mokka GSE has a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential as well as a chassis with specially designed axles and new double hydraulic shock absorbers. All high-voltage components of the standard Opel Mokka GSE, such as the motor, inverter, battery and wiring harness, come from the Opel Mokka GSE Rally. The steering system, chassis and brakes have also been designed to be particularly sporty and optimised thanks to Opel's experience in electric rallying.

Pure emotions: Opel Mokka GSE with typical GSE and rally design

The new Opel Mokka GSE confidently conveys its ‘inner values’ also to the outside world. GSE-specific inserts inspired by the rally prototype adorn the compact electric car on the front apron and at the rear. Safe contact with the road is ensured by the wheel-tyre combination specially developed for the Mokka GSE. 

The new aerodynamically optimised 20-inch alloy wheels combined with the Michelin Pilot Sport EV 225/40 R20 tyres are only available for the Mokka GSE at Opel – as are the clearly visible yellow GSE four-piston brake calipers at the front wheels.

Inside, the driver and co-driver sit on special Alcantara GSE Performance seats with integrated headrests, which optimally integrate the driver into the vehicle. The steering system, which was newly developed for the Opel Mokka GSE, and steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom, promise direct feedback while aluminium sports pedals await acceleration and braking commands.

The necessary information is provided to the driver by the 10-inch digital driver information display that can be customised in many ways and the central colour touchscreen plus navigation system. The screen contains additional information like GSE performance data, G-force display, acceleration values, battery management data and much more. The displays were also designed in the typical GSE style. Furthermore, numerous safety systems are included as standard. These range from glare-free IntelliLux Matrix light to automatic speed assistant and active lane keeping assist to a 180-degree rear-view camera. Features such as multi-stage seat heating for the driver and co-driver and a heated steering wheel enhance comfort in everyday driving. And compatible smartphones can, of course, be charged wirelessly.

Thus, the new Opel Mokka GSE is characterised by emotional sportiness and maximum comfort, as well as a technically high-quality and highly dynamic design down to the smallest detail, both inside and out. Available to order now, the first Mokka GSE models are expected to be delivered to customers by the end of the year.

OMG! GSE – under this motto, many Opel employees lined up at the start of the Opel Company run on Thursday evening. The 12th edition of this popular mass-use event was just as energetic as the slogan emblazoned on the Opel running shirts and the Opel Mokka GSE prototype, which is currently stirring up enthusiasm for Opel's new, extra-sporty and fully electrified GSE models. In midsummer temperatures, around 1,200 runners gathered at the Rüsselsheim stadium on Sommerdamm to tackle the new, almost six-kilometer-long course along the Main River together starting at 7 p.m., and then celebrate their achievements.

"The team spirit at the Opel Company Run is incomparable. We start together – and we reach the finish line together, even if – like today – it might be a bit more strenuous. An experience like this brings people together. These very special moments on and off the track define Opel, the runners, and all their families and friends as a community," said Florian Huettl after crossing the finish line at the Sommerdamm stadium. The Opel CEO and Managing Director Stellantis Germany, along with other representatives of the Opel management team, including Ralph Wangemann, Managing Director of Human Resources and Director of Labor Relations at Opel Automobile GmbH and Head of Human Resources at Stellantis in Germany, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Opel Tobias Gubitz, and General Counsel Stefan Zimmermann, set out on the course with sporting ambition and joined the diverse field of participants from near and far.

"The Opel Company Run has long been more than just a sporting event. It represents movement, community, and a sense of solidarity with our city. As mayor and head of the sports department, I'm delighted that so many people participated again this year—whether by running or on the course," said Patrick Burghardt, delighted with the successful Opel Company Run, which has long since become a traditional national event.

Before the awards ceremony and the after-run party with refreshing drinks, however, the challenge was to tackle the almost six-kilometer-long run course together. For the first time, it led from the stadium directly to the Mainwiesen meadows and on a circular route along the Main River, via Gate 20 into the old Opel factory, before finally returning to the stadium. Just as new as the route were the model highlights with which Opel thrilled participants and guests. 

In keeping with the sporting event, the bold, adventurous vision of the Frontera family SUV was on display: Opel Frontera GRAVEL was the eye-catcher at the start and finish point of the Opel company run . The top-of-the-line Opel Grandland and the extra-stylish Opel Mokka completed the SUV trio with the lightning bolt. ¨

Also present at the stadium were the vocational training, the Diversity & Inclusion team, and the Women of Stellantis.

As is tradition, the awards ceremony for the best teams also took place in the stadium. The fastest women's team was "Bodyshape & Lifting - Medical Beauty." The men's team, "Physioteam 1," took the lead. And the fastest mixed team was "Commerzbank BSG Running 2." The spectators also greeted the senior team, "The Old Sweaty Feet of the LG," with admiration and respect. At 284 years of age, these runners were once again the oldest group in the company run.

The top finishers in each category were delighted to receive attractive prizes such as running training sessions, courses, and joint analysis from Medifit, tickets to the Pista & Piloti event, a wireless keyboard, and much more in the brand's design.
