Small and Sporty: Sales Start for New Opel Corsa GSi

  • Powerful engine: Turbocharging for outstanding throttle response and pulling power
  • Agile chassis: OPC chassis set up on Nürburgring “Nordschleife”
  • Long tradition: First Opel Corsa GSi debuted in 1988 with 100 hp

New Opel Corsa GSi

The eagerly-awaited new Opel Corsa GSi has arrived on the market. With turbo boost and OPC chassis the newcomer represents a machine for true connoisseurs. After the Insignia, the Corsa is the second GSi model now on offer. It impresses with its ultra-precise OPC chassis – for exemplary handling and short braking distances. The Corsa GSi is powered by Opel’s lively 1.4-litre turbo with 110 kW/150 hp and 220 Nm of torque (fuel consumption1 l/100 km: 8.0-7.7 urban, 5.5-5.1 extra-urban, 6.4-6.1 combined, COg/km 147-139 combined). Mated to a short-ratio, six-speed gearbox, the four-cylinder power unit delivers outstanding punch in second and third gears, as well as a maximum torque plateau from 3,000 to 4,500 rpm.

The “hot hatch” from Rüsselsheim is therefore very quick off the mark (zero to 100 km/h is covered in only 8.9 seconds) and impresses with great elasticity: it takes just 9.9 seconds to accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear. Top speed is 207 km/h. The sporty Opel Corsa GSi can be now be ordered for €19,960 (RRP including VAT in Germany).

The OPC chassis and the disc brakes with red calipers have been set up on the legendary Nürburgring “Nordschleife” racetrack by Opel’s Director Performance Cars and Motorsport, Volker Strycek. Agile handling and short braking distances are guaranteed, especially when combined with the optional 18-inch light alloy wheels with 215/40 ZR18 sports tyres.

The high performance of the new Opel Corsa GSi is complemented by the athletic exterior looks featuring large air intakes, sculptured bonnet, prominent rear spoiler and precisely modelled side sills. From the front, the bold Opel GSi fascia with large honeycomb grille and the central Opel Blitz supported by two wings, along with the exterior rear view mirror housings in carbon racing-look become visible. The large chrome-ringed design elements that are visually connected in a horizontal line via black crosspieces running across the front, along with the black traverse cleat on the bonnet support the impression of sportiness. The vibrant styling is also present when viewed from the rear. The prominent spoiler on the edge of the roof creates additional downforce, the sporty chrome tailpipe is framed by the vibrant design of the rear apron in body colour.

The feeling of pure sportiness is also conveyed by the interior of the Opel Corsa GSi, especially when the sports steering wheel, leather gearshift knob and aluminium pedals are complemented by the optional Recaro performance seat.

Sporty GSi cars have a long tradition at Opel. The first to raise the adrenalin level were the Manta GSi and the Kadett GSi (115 hp from 1.8 litres) in 1984. Only four years later the 2.0-litre DOHC 16-valve engine in the Kadett 2.0 GSi 16V delivered 150 hp. The first Opel Astra also featured this engine.

Opel Corsa GSi family was founded in 1988 by the 100 hp Corsa A (now a much sought-after classic) and reached a brief hiatus in 2012 with the Corsa D. Until now: Opel Corsa GSi is back.

New Opel Corsa GSi Powertrain Promises Great Driving Fun

  • 1.4-liter turbo engine with six-speed manual gearbox optimised for winding roads
  • Pure driving precision thanks to the OPC sports chassis
  • Recaro seats and sports steering wheel on inside, carbon elements on the outside
  • Opel Corsa GSi follows in high-performance wheel tracks of dynamic Opel Insignia GSi

In search of the next corner: Dynamic sports chassis adopted from the OPC version makes the new Opel Corsa GSi ideal for tackling winding roads

When the new Opel Corsa GSi follows the Insignia GSi onto the market this summer, it will be powered by the brand’s punchy 1.4-liter turbo engine with 110 kW/150 hp and 220 Nm of torque (fuel consumption l/100 km[1]: 7.9-7.8 urban, 5.4-5.2 extra-urban, 6.3-6.2 combined, CO2 g/km 147-143 combined). Thus

Opel’s “hot hatchback” is not only quick off the mark (zero to 100 km/h is covered in only 8.9 seconds), it also impresses with great elasticity – on its way to the maximum speed of 207 km/h, the Corsa GSi takes just 9.9 seconds to accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear. The “pocket-rocket” from Rüsselsheim is also part of Opel’s Euro 6d-TEMP rollout.

When configuring the engine, which delivers a specific power output of more than 100 hp/litre, engineers specifically optimised responsiveness for great driving fun on winding country roads. Thus, the turbocharged engine with short-ratio, six-speed gearbox impresses with outstanding punch in second and third gears as well as a maximum torque plateau of 3,000 to 4,500 rpm tailor-made for spirited driving.

The Corsa GSi also emits pure precision: The sport chassis known from the OPC version and the brakes with red calipers ensure precise athleticism, outstanding handling and short braking distances also when combined with the optional 18-inch light alloy wheels with high-grip 215/40 R18 tyres.

The high performance of the new Opel Corsa GSi is matched by the athletic exterior looks. It has a characteristic design with large air intakes, sculptured bonnet, prominent rear spoiler and precisely modelled side sills.

From the front, the cheeky Opel GSi fascia with large honeycomb grille and the central Opel Blitz supported by two wings, along with the exterior rear view mirror housings in carbon racing-look become visible. The large chrome-ringed design elements that are visually connected in a horizontal line via black crosspieces running across the front, along with the black traverse cleat on the bonnet support the impression of road-clinging athlete. The vibrant styling is also present when viewed from the rear. The prominent spoiler on the edge of the roof creates additional downforce, the sporty chrome tailpipe is framed by the vibrant design of the rear apron in body colour.

The pure feeling of sportiness is also conveyed by the interior. Opel Corsa GSi driver sits on the optional Recaro performance seat and puts his hands on the sports steering wheel. Select the gear via the leather gearshift knob, put your foot on the aluminium sport pedal and pure driving pleasure commences.

!NEW! Rugged Pocket Rocket: Opel ADAM ROCKS S from 19.990 Euro

  • Ready: Order books for the latest member of the Opel ADAM family now open
  • Fast: From 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, top speed of 210 km/h
  • Dynamically robust: Masculine outdoor look with sporty feeling
  • Immediate help: Personal connectivity and service assistant Opel OnStar available as an option for all ADAM models

Dynamic symbiosis: Opel ADAM ROCKS S combines the athleticism of the ADAM S with the rugged look of the ADAM ROCKS.
Anything but cute and anything but slow was the claim when the brand new Opel ADAM ROCKS S was presented to the public at the Amsterdam Motor Show this spring. Now the mini-crossover with racing flair is ready to sprint to the customers. Opel ADAM ROCKS S can be ordered for prices starting at euro 19.990 (RRP including VAT in Germany). For this price, buyers will receive the perfect symbiosis of adventurousness and athleticism. On the outside, the 3.75 meter long Opel ADAM ROCKS S shows its rugged, masculine charm; under its hood, it can look to a powerful 1.4 liter turbo with 110 kW/150 hp. On the inside, the newcomer does not just dazzle with the Opel ADAM-typical extensive choice of trim and individualization possibilities including IntelliLink infotainment technology – it can also look to the groundbreaking personal connectivity and service assistant Opel OnStar, thus guaranteeing outstanding entertainment and safety.

The best of both worlds: Opel ADAM ROCKS S for freedom-loving sporty drivers

Better an Opel ADAM ROCKS with rugged features, optional SwingTop canvas roof, underride protection look along with distinctive off-road front, side and rear claddings, or maybe the Opel ADAM S with specific roof spoiler, performance steering and chassis along with amble horsepower under the hood? The decision is easy now as the two possibilities can be combines. The sporty mini-crossover Opel ADAM ROCKS S offers the best of both worlds.

Opel ECOTEC 1.4 Turbo with 110 kW/150 hp and 220 Nm of torque

The 110 kW/150 hp ECOTEC engine impresses with 220 Nm of torque on tap and a top speed of 210 km/h. Opel ADAM ROCKS S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 8.5 seconds. However, it also boasts great elasticity and makes the transition for 80 to 120 km/h in 5th gear in just 7.9 seconds. The power is transmitted via a short ratio 6-speed gearbox. Despite its sporting credentials the Opel ADAM ROCKS makes do with a mere 5.9 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle (equivalent to 139 g/km of CO2).

New Opel ADAM ROCKS S feels especially at home on country roads that play to its strengths. The dynamic performance chassis, which has been lowered by 15 millimeters compared to the Opel ADAM ROCKS, and a direct and responsive steering create pure driving pleasure, especially on winding roads. The high-performance brakes and the ESP system that can be switched off offer drivers the possibility of safely pushing the rocking athlete to its limits on suitable roads.

Outstanding connectivity and safe: Opel OnStar for the successful lifestyle mini

Just like its ADAM siblings, the ADAM ROCKS S offers assistance systems and features that are unrivalled in this segment. For example, Side Blind Spot Alert is available as an option to increase safety. It uses the ultrasonic sensors to warn the driver of an imminent collision when changing lanes. If the electronic guardians pick up an object on collision course, a LED warning appears in the relevant exterior door mirror. Side Blind Spot Alert works in speeds ranging from 11 km/h to 140 km/h. Side Blind Spot Alert (SBSA) also comes as part of Advanced Park Assist (APA), available for euro 580, that automatically steers the Opel ADAM ROCKS S into a suitable space.

But that is not all. Apart from the award-winning IntelliLink infotainment system, the rugged athlete can also be ordered with Opel OnStar, just like all other Opel ADAM models. The groundbreaking personal connectivity and service assistant takes on-board connectivity to a new level. Opel OnStar turns the car into a powerful 4G/LTE mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot. Up to seven devices can be connected to it. Furthermore, the system offers a wide range of safety and comfort services ranging from 24-Hour Emergency Call Service to Roadside Assistance. The services offered by the personal guardian angel are available free of charge for the first 12 months after activation. The hardware for Opel OnStar comes as standard for the trim levels ADAM GLAM and ADAM SLAM. For the other family members it costs euro 490.

At 3.75 meters long with a masculine appearance and 110 kW/150 hp ECOTEC engine, the new ADAM ROCKS S is particularly appealing to customers who want to combine sporty driving and adventure with chic design in an off-road look. The engine delivers 220 Nm torque and is mated to a short ratio six-speed gearbox. The mini-crossover covers the sprint to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, and needs just 7.9 seconds to accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h. Top speed is 210 km/h. Driving fun is ensured by the 15 mm lower performance sports chassis, the direct, sporty steering and the high-performance braking system including ESP that can be deactivated. Yet Opel’s sporty new small car makes do with a mere 5.9 liters fuel per 100 km and emits just 139 g/km CO2 in the combined cycle.

Irresistible: 150 hp, 220 Nm of torque and a performance chassis.
Bold: Extended rear bumper cut-out with a visible exhaust tailpipe and a rear spoiler planted on the roof.
Opel also introduced another top athlete in Amsterdam. The new Corsa OPC impresses with its powerful turbocharged engine that pumps out 152 kW/207 hp and develops up to 280 Nm torque. The sporty top-of-the-line Corsa accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h (7.5 l/100 km and 174 g/km CO2 in the combined cycle).

Full of character – Opel KARL

“A car full of character that appeals to both heart and mind – ideal for price-conscious customers who want to combine everyday suitability with comfort and modern technologies.” This is how Peter Christian Küspert introduced the new Opel KARL at its premiere in Amsterdam. Smart shoppers can hardly get more car for their money: City mode for the power steering, heated steering wheel and assistance systems such as Park Assist, Cruise Control with speed limiter, cornering light function and Lane Departure Warning make Opel technologies from upper vehicle classes affordable for everyone in the small car segment. “Or as we say, high-tech for everyone!” summarized Küspert, describing the new model’s benefits in a nutshell. “With KARL, ADAM and Corsa, we now have the strongest small car offer in our history and the youngest portfolio on the market.”

The Opel Vice President of Sales and Aftersales also introduced the new mobility and service assistant Opel OnStar to the Dutch public. “Opel OnStar will turn your car into a powerful, mobile WiFi hotspot. But not only that: Opel OnStar is more than entertainment. It is always there in an emergency and can save lives,” said Küspert. With its market launch in Europe from August, Opel takes the next step forward in vehicle connectivity and reinforces its leadership position in groundbreaking technology solutions.

These are steps that customers appreciate. Peter Christian Küspert: “We are now the fourth-largest automobile manufacturer for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in the Netherlands. We were able to increase our market share here in the passenger car segment to 5.77 percent and in the commercial vehicle segment to 7.6 percent. These numbers correspond to Opel’s positive performance in all of Europe last year as well as the first quarter of 2015.”

  • Stylish: Fresh, luxurious or bold – choice of looks and equipment

Cultivated understatement: New Opel Corsa with 150 hp looks like its standard siblings but packs a considerable punch.
This small powerhouse is a perfect fit for fans of the cultivated understatement – the 110 kW/150 hp Opel Corsa 1.4 Turbo. The new four-cylinder engine in the fifth Opel Corsa generation provides superior driving performance: 220 Nm maximum torque, 8.9 seconds for the sprint from zero to 100 and 207 km/h top speed speaks for itself. The other key data are no less impressive: in spite of its first-class power development, the new Opel Corsa 1.4 Turbo consumes just 5.9 liters fuel per 100 km in the combined cycle and emits 136 g/km CO2. It expands the Corsa family powertrain portfolio even further, integrating this sporty driving fun between the new generation 85 kW/115 hp 1.0 Turbo three-cylinder and the exhilarating top-of-the-line OPC 152 kW/207 hp 1.6 Turbo.

New Opel Corsa 1.4 Turbo consumes just 5.9 liters fuel per 100 km in the combined cycle and emits 136 g/km CO2
While the Opel Corsa OPC is only available with a three-door body style, the new, sporty 1.4 Turbo is available both as a three-door for an attractive entry-level price of 17.380 euros and as a five-door starting at 18.130 euros (RRP incl. And for those who want to make the 150-hp Corsa’s inner values visible on the outside, Opel offers the Turbo Plus Package featuring charismatic OPC looks.

Opel Corsa buyers can choose between two different trims: the young, fresh and sporty Color Edition and the sophisticated, well-equipped INNOVATION version
“We wanted a Corsa that combines sportiness with top everyday suitability for an extremely attractive price. And we certainly achieved this with the 150 hp 1.4 Turbo,” says Peter Christian Küspert, Vice President Sales & Aftersales Opel Group, describing the newest member of the small-car family. “The new Opel Corsa 1.4 Turbo is the perfect addition to our portfolio. Buyers can choose between the sporty, fresh three-door model and the luxurious five-door variant for the whole family.”

Spoilt for choice: The new, sporty Corsa with the 1.4 liter turbo engine is available both as a three-door and as a five-door.

Lively, fresh, sporty: 150 hp Turbo with high fuel economy

Opel engineers focused on combining sporty driving fun with economic fuel consumption when configuring the engine. The 110 kW/150 hp 1.4 liter turbo engine delivers 220 Nm torque between 3,000 and 4,500 rpm. A six-speed transmission with soft and precise shifting transfers power to the front wheels. Thus equipped, the Corsa accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds, and for the sprint from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear, an exceptionally important speed range for overtaking, it needs 9.9 seconds. Maximum speed is 207 km/h.

Lively and economical: The 150 hp 1.4 liter turbo engine delivers 220 Nm torque while also delivering economical fuel consumption of 5.9 liters per 100 km.

The sporty driving performance is combined with economic fuel consumption, also due to Opel’s Start/Stop technology, which is fitted as standard and especially pays off in stop-and-go urban traffic. The three-door Corsa 1.4 Turbo consumes just 5.9 liters per 100 km and emits only 136 g/km CO2. The Euro 6 engine’s dual cam phasing allows for continuously variable valve timing and a turbocharger integrated within the exhaust manifold reduces weight and delivers compact packaging. Numerous weight-saving features include a cast iron block with a hollow frame structure, hollow-cast camshafts and a plastic intake manifold.

Dynamic, practical, stylish: Sporty ambience inside and out

Ample space for five people and up to 1,120 liter stowage room within a length of just 4.02 meters – the Corsa 1.4 Turbo embodies all its family’s well-known strengths and offers as much space in its compact dimensions as all of its stablemates. In addition, the Color Edition boasts comprehensive standard equipment with an extra touch of sportiness. The interior features aluminum sports pedals and darkly tinted Solar Protect heat-absorbing glazing in the rear passenger compartment, while steering wheel remote controls for the radio and cruise control provide even more convenience.

On the exterior, the high-gloss black roof and grille as well as the chrome exhaust tailpipe set sporty accents, while the fog lights with chrome trim enhance this effect. Opel Corsa comes with 17-inch wheels and bi-color titanium alloy rims as standard. With the Sport Stripes White Package available at no extra cost, the rims shimmer in white.

Opel Corsa INNOVATION variant is understated luxury, with chrome window trim (five-door) and chrome-plated door handles giving it a sophisticated touch.

Opel Corsa INNOVATION variant is understated luxury, with chrome window trim (five-door) and chrome-plated door handles giving it a sophisticated touch. !NEW! Vauxhall ADAM GRAND SLAM to debut at Autosport International Show

  • Vauxhall ADAM range-topper debuts in Birmingham
  • 1.4-litre Turbo (150PS) engine and Red ’n‘ Roll-design
  • Performance chassis with VXR braking system
New Vauxhall ADAM GRAND SLAM

Vauxhall’s top-of-the-range ADAM GRAND SLAM will make its UK debut at Autosport International 2015 (Thursday 8th – Sunday 11th January) at the NEC, Birmingham.

Previewed at last year’s Geneva and Frankfurt Motor Shows, the Vauxhall ADAM GRAND SLAM features slick design and a spirited 1.4-litre Turbo (150PS) powertrain. It also gets a specially-tuned chassis and a VXR braking system.

With 150PS and 220Nm of torque, the new version of the 1.4-litre Turbo ECOTEC unit in the Vauxhall ADAM GRAND SLAM boasts a specific power output exceeding 100PS/litre. It is a turbocharged, high performance unit derived from the ADAM’s existing four-cylinder, 1.4-litre engine, that has been exclusively developed for the Vauxhall ADAM GRAND SLAM.

The front lip spoiler, side sill moldings and an extended rear bumper cut-out with a visible, bold exhaust tailpipe make the bodywork appear more muscular then a standard ADAM. A total of ten body paint choices and four further roof combinations are available with the Red ʼn‘ Roll roof design reserved exclusively for ADAM GRAND SLAM customers. The distinctive rear spoiler above the rear window and the special ADAM logo on the C pillars complete the look.

Inside the vehicle, the driver and front passenger can choose between four different seat arrangements, three of which are exclusively available for this ADAM variant, including the Recaro Performance seats in Morrocana or nappa leather. The interior reflects the Red ʼn‘ Roll design in many ways, with the optional leather package including black and red steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake in leather or the red and white lighting for the instrument panels and doors.

Orders will open for the Vauxhall ADAM GRAND SLAM in January 2015.
