Because order books for the new Opel Grandland Electric AWD – the first all-electric Opel model with all-wheel drive – are now open. At launch, the electric all-wheel drive SUV is available in a very special variant: as the extensively equipped Ultimate version. With many additional features such as the panoramic glass sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels in ‘Diamond Cut’ aero design, 360° Intelli-Vision camera and Intelli-HUD head up display as standard, the new Opel Grandland Electric AWD Ultimate is available from €59,990 (RRP incl. VAT in Germany). And with ’Electric All In’1, Opel is now making the switch to electric mobility even easier and more attractive.

"By opening the order books for the new Opel Grandland Electric AWD, we are also opening the next chapter of success for our top SUV. Only the new electric all-wheel drive model offers this much power combined with highly efficient driving pleasure. Our Grandland Electric AWD delivers additional grip and safety, even in challenging conditions. This opens up new possibilities and an unrivalled driving experience for customers," said Tobias Gubitz, Senior Vice President Global Sales Opel & Vauxhall.

Opel Grandland Electric with all-wheel drive: Efficient, safe, gripping driving pleasure

Performance data speaks for itself: new Opel Grandland Electric AWD offers a system output of 239 kW (325 hp). The new all-wheel drive system combines the standard 157 kW (213 hp) front-wheel drive electric motor known from Opel Grandland Electric with an additional 82 kW (112 hp) electric motor for the rear wheels. Thus, Opel Grandland Electric AWD achieves a maximum torque of 509 Nm. The all-wheel drive vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. In the Ultimate trim, Opel Grandland Electric AWD can travel up to 489 kilometres (WLTP 3) without charging stop; further trim versions with a range of up to 501 kilometres (provisional value according to (WLTP 3) will follow later this year. Opel Grandland Electric AWD needs less than 30 minutes to recharge its 73 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery (usable capacity) from 20% to 80% at a public fast-charger.

Gripping electric all-wheel drive pleasure is further enhanced by two components: the standard suspension with frequency selective damping technology and the choice of four driving modes to suit the requirements. Depending on the situation, road surface conditions and driving style, the unique frequency selective damping technology enables different damping characteristics for comfortable gliding at high frequencies – i.e. with short impacts such as on cobblestones – as well as for a sporty, ambitious driving style with more direct contact with the road at low frequencies. Opel Grandland Electric AWD thus reacts even more immediately and directly to any command from the driver and, as is typical for Opel, remains stable when braking, cornering and at high speeds on the Autobahn.

Four individual driving modes differ as follows:

Normal Mode: Optimise daily efficiency, only the front motor and wheels are prioritised; the maximum power is limited to 230 kW (313 hp) and maximum torque to 450 Nm. Depending on the driver’s demands, the rear motor and wheels automatically engage.

4WD Mode: Two motors operate continuously, with power distributed evenly between all four wheels providing optimal grip, especially on slippery surfaces. ESP and traction control systems adopt specific settings to enhance grip. Maximum power and torque are available.

Sport Mode: Two motors operate continuously, with power distributed 60:40 between the front and rear axles for dynamic and efficient performance. Maximum power and torque are available. The steering and accelerator pedal also adopt a specific ‘Sport’ setting, providing increased responsiveness.

Eco Mode: Front motor and wheels are prioritised, maximum power is limited to 157 kW (213 hp) and maximum torque to 343 Nm. Air conditioning and accelerator pedal also adopt an Eco setting.

Extensive standard equipment

Like every Opel Grandland, the new electric all-wheel drive version impresses from the outside with its 3D Vizor front with centrally illuminated Opel Blitz and ‘Edge Light’ technology as well as the illuminated OPEL wordmark at the rear. Another highlight is the award-winning glare-free Intelli-Lux HD light with more than 50,000 elements, which illuminates the night as standard in the Ultimate trim, making driving in the dark safer for all road users. Opel Grandland Electric AWD Ultimate sets further visual accents with 20-inch alloy wheels in ‘Diamond Cut’ aero design, bumpers with carbon-look elements, and aluminium pedals.

Interior of the all-wheel drive vehicle impresses with a feel-good ambience throughout. The driver and front passenger sit on the Intelli-Seats Pro in Alcantara, certified by Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V. Alternatively, they can also choose front seats in nappa leather at no extra charge. The electric sliding panoramic glass sunroof supports the airy feeling of space, even in the second row.

Intelli-HUD head-up display, the 360° Intelli-Vision camera and the advanced driver assistance systems with Intelli-Drive 2.0 including intelligent speed adjustment make driving even more relaxed and safer. All of them come as standard, too. Multimedia navigation system with 16-inch colour touchscreen provides the best entertainment and connectivity. Solutions such as the transparent pixel box in the centre console, which can be used to charge your smartphone wirelessly, increase the practical benefits. And for convenient access to the rear compartment, the sensor-controlled tailgate of Opel Grandland Electric AWD Ultimate opens and closes electrically.

Electric All In 1: E-services included for affordable electromobility

And to give electric mobility a further boost, Opel is making it even easier and more attractive for customers – starting with the purchase of a vehicle. • Everyday rally feeling: Customers can look forward to the Opel Mokka as a powerful GSE
  • Pure power: Opel Mokka GSE Rally is the inspiration for the extraordinary series electric car
  • Still camouflaged: New Opel Mokka GSE currently in final rounds of development

A few weeks ago, Opel Mokka GSE Rally celebrated its sensational premiere at the ELE Rally in the Netherlands. There, the prototype announced itself in front of everyone as a new star in electric rallying. Now Opel has confirmed that Opel Mokka GSE is coming as a production vehicle – OMG! GSE moments included. In the future, customers will also be able to drive the successful compact Opel SUV as a fully electric high-performance GSE version, making everyday life on the move extraordinary! Just like Opel Mokka GSE Rally, Opel Mokka GSE benefits from the company's pioneering achievements and experience in electric rallying.  How the newcomer awakens the desire for more is also shown in the electrifying video.

“During the development of Opel Mokka GSE Rally, it quickly became clear to us that we did not want to reserve this incredible feeling only for motorsport professionals. Opel customers should also be able to enjoy this particularly powerful, direct and uncompromising driving experience. That is why we are putting Opel Mokka GSE into series production," said Opel Vice President Current Product Marc Fetzer.

OMG! GSE feeling for the road: Opel Mokka GSE as a series version of the rally prototype

Opel Mokka GSE Rally, which recently entered the big stage at the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’, stands for excitement: From the outside, it shines with motorsport foiling including OMG! GSE lettering, black bonnet, yellow brake calipers and many other rally accents. Even more impressive are the key technical data: 207 kW (280 hp) of peak power, 345 Newton metres of torque and sophisticated motorsport technology make Opel Mokka GSE Rally a unique all-electric rally car. "Opel Mokka GSE Rally marks an incredible leap in electric rallying. The power and the precise handling are brilliant – it's great fun from the very first second," said Calle Carlberg.

The champion of the 2023 ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup should know, after all, he has already put the Mokka GSE Rally to the test. “I think it's fantastic that Opel is now translating the prototype into series production as Opel Mokka GSE and making this driving experience possible for all Opel customers.”

Opel Mokka GSE will also share many components and traits with Opel Mokka GSE Rally. This includes the strong performance as well as the direct feedback from the vehicle and the feeling that the Mokka GSE ‘sticks to the road’. Rally-inspired highlights will underline the uncompromising appearance. It will, however, still take a little time before the particularly sporty electric car will be available. Currently, the Mokka GSE is camouflaged and is undergoing final tests, so that customers will receive a perfectly tuned production vehicle and benefit from the experience gained in motorsport. The Opel Motorsport team has already collected valuable data with Opel Mokka GSE Rally at its rally premiere in Eindhoven and at the demanding stages of Rallye Vosges Grand-Est in France. These experiences will be incorporated into the series version of Opel Mokka GSE.

Opel will continue the OMG! GSE story soon by announcing further news and releasing first official pictures of  Opel Mokka GSE.

Tom Heindrichs Wins Third Round of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’ 2025

  • Belgian Heindrichs dominates the action at Rally Vosges Grand-Est
  • Championship leader Alex Español and German Kilian Nierenz complete the podium
  • Opel Mokka GSE Rally prototype inspires drivers and fans in the Vosges

Tom Heindrichs dominated the third round of the 2025 ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’ 2025. At the Rally Vosges Grand-Est in northern France, the 21-year-old Belgian and his co-driver Jonas Schmitz were the fastest in seven of the eight special stages in their Opel Corsa Rally Electric and had an impressive lead of 52.8 seconds over championship leader Alex ‘Sito’ Español and his co-driver Borja Odriozola at the finish in Gérardmer. Kilian Nierenz and co-driver Milena Raithel won an exciting three-way battle with the Austrians Marcel Neulinger/Silvano Winkler and the Germans Christian Lemke/Jan-Eric Bemmann and secured their second podium place of the season. In the overall standings, Español's lead over the new runner-up Heindrichs is now 17 points.

At the finish, winner Heindrichs¸ brother of World Rally Champion Thierry Neuville, was satisfied: "After the start of the season did not go quite to plan for us, we are all the more pleased with this win. The fact that we were able to win seven out of eight stages here shows that we are on the right track. Now it is important to keep at it and make up more ground on Sito in the championship. We are looking forward to the next events in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup."

Kilian Nierenz was no less happy, after moving up into third in the overall standings thanks to another podium finish: "The rally was awesome! At the shakedown, we were really shocked at how challenging but also beautiful the route is here. Tom was outstanding, but we're super happy with third place and the second fastest time in the Power Stage. Opel Corsa Rally Electric also worked great on these hard tracks and we were able to gain a lot of valuable experience again. It was a lot of fun!"

Opel Mokka GSE Rally: Prototype causes a stir on and at edge of track

New all-electric Opel Mokka GSE Rally also caused a stir among French rally fans. Opel veteran Horst Rotter and his co-driver Conny Nemenich drove the 207 kW (280 hp) prototype as an advance vehicle over the demanding special stages and gained further important insights in the development of the powerful electric car. "The car already works really well and is a lot of fun with its high torque of 345 Newton meters," Rotter praised.

"As in the past two years, the Vosges Grand-Est Rally has proven to be a challenging but also very enjoyable event for our young participants," said Jörg Schrott, Head of Opel Motorsport. "The fact that all the cars saw the chequered flag in Gérardmer speaks for our teams and the qualities of the Opel Corsa Rally Electric. Tom Heindrichs put on an outstanding display. Above all, I am happy about the great performances of Marcel Neulinger and Thyrsa Eertmans, who have impressively shown their potential here. And our new Mokka GSE Rally has left a strong impression on the French fans."

Teams of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’ will now take a short summer break. The fourth round of the world's first electric rally one-make cup will take place on August 15 and 16 as part of the ADAC Saarland-Palatinate Rally around St. Wendel.

Conquering New Terrain: Opel Grandland Electric AWD

  • Blitz premiere: Top-of-range SUV is first battery-electric Opel with all-wheel drive
  • Impressive power: 239 kW (325 hp) system output, 509 Nm torque, 0-100 km/h in 6.1 s
  • Enjoying longer electric journeys: Up to 501 km locally emissions-free range (WLTP 1)
  • For individual habits: Four drive modes from 4WD and Sport to Normal and Eco

After becoming the first German manufacturer to offer each model with battery-electric drive in 2024, Opel is continuing its electrification push in 2025. Rüsselsheim-based brand recently teased the arrival of fully electric, high-performance GSE models and is now showing the first pictures of the new Opel Grandland Electric AWD – the first all-electric model with the Blitz emblem available with all-wheel drive.

“Our top-of-the-range Grandland SUV is a milestone for Opel, a milestone that is proving extremely popular since we opened the order books last October. Customers already have a choice of battery-electric drive, plug-in hybrid and hybrid with 48-volt technology. We are now offering even more choice with the Opel Grandland Electric AWD and thus ensuring that our customers can enjoy maximum efficiency and safety in diverse weather and road conditions, combined with plenty of driving fun,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

As a member of the Opel Grandland family, the newcomer enjoys the stunning design of its siblings. The characteristic Opel brand face, the 3D Vizor, is combined with the illuminated Opel Blitz emblem which is more prominent thanks to Edge Light Technology. The new illuminated logo is also accompanied by the award-winning and industry-leading Intelli-Lux HD headlamps with more than 50,000 individual elements. At the rear, the Grandland Electric AWD features the illuminated ‘OPEL’ wordmark. And fully in line with Opel’s Greenovation approach to conserve all resources related to the automobile, the name of the car is no longer displayed by chrome lettering – instead it is centrally embossed in the tailgate.

However, that is where the similarities end. Aerodynamically-optimised inserts on the front and rear bumpers, along with the 20-inch bi-colour aero wheels give the latest addition to the Grandland family an even sportier appearance, while further reducing wind resistance. Electric AWD is the most aerodynamically efficient Opel Grandland model, with a drag coefficient (Cd) of just 0.278.

Four driving modes, 239 kW (325 hp) system output and up to 501 km range (WLTP 1)

Elsewhere, the inner values of the newcomer are equally impressive. All-new Grandland Electric AWD comes with a 73 kWh usable Lithium-ion NMC battery and can cover up to 501 km (WLTP1) between charging stops. And when it does need recharging, only a short stop of under 30 minutes is required to charge from 20% to 80% at a fast charger. Meanwhile the new all-wheel drive system combines the standard 157 kW (213 hp) front-wheel drive electric motor known from the Grandland Electric with an additional 82 kW (112 hp) electric motor for the rear wheels. Thanks to this combination Grandland Electric AWD drivers can look forward to a total system output of 239 kW (325 hp), a maximum torque of 509 Nm and four distinct drive modes:

  • Normal Mode: To optimise daily efficiency, only the front motor and wheels are prioritised; the maximum power is limited to 230 kW (313 hp) and maximum torque to 450 Nm. Depending on the driver’s demands, the rear motor and wheels automatically engage. During strong acceleration (kick-down), both motors deliver their full potential.
  • 4WD Mode: Two motors operate continuously, with power distributed evenly between all four wheels providing optimal grip, especially on slippery surfaces. ESP and traction control systems adopt specific settings to enhance grip. Maximum power and torque are available
  • Sport Mode: Two motors operate continuously, with power distributed 60:40 between the front and rear axles for dynamic and efficient performance. Maximum power and torque are available. Steering and accelerator pedal also adopt a specific ‘Sport’ setting, providing increased responsiveness.
  • Eco Mode: The front motor and wheels are prioritised, maximum power is limited to 157 kW (213 hp) and maximum torque to 343 Nm. During strong acceleration (kick-down), the rear motor and wheels automatically engage and both motors deliver their full power. The air conditioning and accelerator pedal also adopt an Eco setting.

And while the newcomer delivers locally emissions-free all-wheel drive it still boasts exciting acceleration. Thanks to the two electric motors, Opel Grandland Electric AWD accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. In addition, both driving pleasure and comfort are further emphasised by dampers with frequency selective damping technology. This unique technology comes as standard on the Opel Grandland Electric AWD and incorporates a second hydraulic circuit in the damper chamber to mechanically adapt the damping force in relation to the frequency. Depending on the situation, road surface conditions and driving style, it enables different damping characteristics for comfortable gliding at high frequencies – i.e. with short impacts such as on cobblestones or a manhole cover – as well as for a sporty, ambitious driving style with more direct contact with the road at low frequencies. The Grandland reacts even more immediately and directly to any command from the driver and, as is typical for Opel, remains stable when braking, cornering and at high speeds on the Autobahn. The Opel DNA is further emphasised by specific spring, anti-roll bar, steering and ESC tuning. Thus, the new Opel Grandland Electric with all-wheel drive offers customers a new level of direct, locally emissions-free and safe driving fun.
