Bold, Modern, Electrifying: New CI Concept for Opel Showrooms

  • Bold and pure: Fresh corporate identity for dealerships takes customers into a new Opel world
  • Modern German: External and internal design with clear focus on essentials
  • Energetic: Showrooms exude a feel-good atmosphere and make electromobility a physical and digital experience

Energetic new Opel Blitz, which stands for electricity like no other symbol, is now followed by next step in increasing perception of German brand: Opel car dealerships will soon shine in fresh splendour and take customers into a completely new, electrifying Opel world. New corporate identity ensures that all visitors can experience future of brand – in a modern, focused environment that clearly reflects Opel's values.

“Implementation of new showrooms represents a major step forward – for Opel brand and each of our dealership partners. Because our Opel partners are a decisive link between brand and customers. They bring brand values to life – by presenting our innovative models and now also with a customer-focused, modern and representative showroom appearance. Our customers decide for themselves when time is right to visit a dealer. Number of on-site customer visits is decreasing, with customers now only visiting dealership once on average. With new retail corporate identity, they will immediately feel that they are in good hands with our partners. It is designed to focus on the customer and enable a simple and clear exchange,” said Vice President Marketing Rebecca Reinermann.

With a bold appearance as well as clear colours and shapes that are limited to essentials, dealerships will be unmistakable regional brand experience centres. Colours yellow and dark grey dominate the exterior appearance. Clear and modern designed yellow totem with new Opel Blitz logo and Opel wordmark is an eye-catcher even before entering premises and invites people to enter car dealership. At night, glass totem is brightly lit so that presence is visible from afar.

“Discovery Hub” and “Electric Corner”: dedicated areas with clear message

Iinterior showroom inside the dealership welcomes visitors with an equally clear and focussed layout – each dedicated zone has its own unmistakable function. Central focal point is the aesthetically and purely designed area in bright Opel yellow. So-called “Discovery Hub” acts as a lounge area with uniquely designed chairs and sofas where customers can relax and learn more about the digital future as well as the brand's rich heritage. Wide range of merchandising items from Opel brand fashion to practical accessories can also be found here.

Individual Opel models stand out clearly in front of otherwise white and grey surfaces. Focused light panels above vehicles skilfully highlight them and emphasise characteristic Opel design. “Electric Corner” shows how easy electromobility can be – also thanks to a wide variety of charging options, from wallbox to “Universal Charger”, that Opel has in its repertoire. Customers can find out about various options and their respective advantages directly on site and can clarify further questions about electromobility by talking to employees. Specially designed area, where personal advice and sales discussions can be held, also conveys a modern, feel-good atmosphere. In this way, local Opel partner becomes perfect contact point that connects physical experience with electrified and digital world.

With modern, clear and focussed design, car dealerships will underline even more what Opel means by “Modern German”: an open, inviting atmosphere for everyone with models that promise future-proof electrified mobility and reduce CO2 footprint.

All-New Opel Frontera: Spacious and Fun SUV Also Available Fully Electric

  • Customers’ choice: Battery-electric version or efficient 48-volt hybrid drives
  • Rugged interpretation: Expressive silhouette, Opel Vizor with new Blitz, pronounced wheel arches
  • Interior delights: Dual widescreen displays, special ergonomic feature for front seats, clever storage solutions
  • Space aplenty: Up to 1,600 litres of luggage space, optional functional roof rails
  • Clever solutions: Wireless charging and phone projection, additional USB ports and more

Opel is sounding in the start of a new chapter in the company’s long and successful history: today the Rüsselsheim-based carmaker revealed the first images of the new Opel Frontera. The fun and spacious new SUV with the Blitz will be available as a battery-electric variant from the very start with customers also being able to opt for variants with 48-volt hybrid technology.

“With its combination of rugged design, spaciousness, clever solutions and efficient drivetrains, our new Opel Frontera will appeal to a wide range of customers who want to stand out from the crowd. It is ideally suited to the urban and sub-urban environment while simultaneously offering a recharging experience to our customers,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

New Opel Frontera already delights at first sight with its rugged interpretation of Opel’s bold and pure design philosophy. Upright front silhouette and unique front proportions of the new Frontera combine a functional and spacious cabin volume with a very bold and tough, but modern expressive look. New Opel “Blitz” emblem celebrates its premiere on a series model and sits proudly at the centre of Opel Vizor. Bblack “Vizor” gives the front of Opel Frontera a unique identity and seamlessly integrates Eco LED headlamps with automatic high beam, and central Opel Blitz. Vizor is supported by a trapezoidal cooling opening in lower third and emphasises solid and robust stance of the car. Well-known Opel “wing signature” shines in a modern interpretation with three lighting blocks being separated by body-coloured insets. Side view reveals a distinctive C-pillar, which visually splits the spacious cabin. Elsewhere, the pronounced wheel arches and fenders plant the car firmly on the road while also giving the newcomer a solid and modern look.

Smartphone station, Intelli-Seat: Smart solutions for connectivity and comfort

Modern look and feel continues in the interior where clever design meets practicality. Wide horizontal decors on the instrument panel and doors visually widen the already airy cabin. Furthermore, the Opel typical fully digital Pure Panel cockpit with two 10-inch displays and Multimedia infotainment system awaits occupants and is just as eye-catching as the bold and elegant new steering wheel. Opel consistently follows philosophy of maximum comfort with minimum distraction, with a clean, detoxed user experience to avoid any form of digital stress.

Newcomer also caters for those who prefer to rely on their own mobile device by offering an optional innovative smartphone station. After connecting to the station via a dedicated app, the user’s smartphone becomes the vehicle’s infotainment control panel, also interacting with the steering wheel buttons. And Opel is once again bringing seating innovations to a wide range of customers in the new Frontera. Patented Intelli-Seat feature in front seats – a slot that relieves the pressure on the tailbone – ensures outstanding comfort even during long journeys on the Autobahn. In addition, seats are not only richly crafted and sculpted but are also eye-catching thanks to contrast stitching. Seat fabrics are also available in a fully sustainable recycled material.

Fun factor of newcomer is further increased by a string of smart solutions. For example, charging mobile devices is easier than ever before with a cooled wireless charger and two USB ports available in front and a further two USB ports available in the second row. Larger devices that would normally not fit into the cabin properly, such as tablets, can be safely stored in the centre console thanks to a flexible strap that holds them in place. Further open storage areas in the cabin can take daily carry-ons with rubber lining preventing rattling and sliding. Second row passengers can take advantage of integrated smartphone pockets in back rests of the front seats.

Spacious, efficient and clever: Ideal companion for a sustainable active lifestyle

In addition, new Opel Frontera impresses with its loading capacity. With back seats up, it already offers over 460 litres of luggage space in boot – with the seats folded down, the capacity increases to up to 1,600 litres. Additional versatility is provided by the 60:40 split of rear bench while a second load floor comes as standard. Furthermore, customers who need to take even more luggage on their journeys or want to take full advantage of the roof load of more than 200 kilogrammes can choose the optional functional roof rails.

Like all new Opel models, new Frontera not only impresses with its bold and pure design, but also with its responsible performance. Customers will be able to choose between a purely battery electric variant and highly efficient drives with 48-volt hybrid technology. Regardless of which drivetrain the customer chooses, they can look forward to a high level of driving pleasure thanks to the specific chassis set-up. Engineers in Rüsselsheim paid close attention to optimising body control and delivering Opel typical driving characteristics – even when travelling at high speeds on German Autobahn.

With its expressive new look, its clever and fun solutions along with an easy choice of fully electric or hybrid drives, new Opel Frontera once again shows that German brand takes its electrification pledge seriously while simultaneously catering to a wide range of customers.
