Opel wishes “Merry Christmas!”: New Opel Mokka GSE Brings Festive Joy

  • ‘Golden Steering Wheel 2025’ winner with V2L: Opel Mokka GSE powers Christmas tree lights
  • OMG! GSE: Fastest all-electric production Opel brings rally feelings to the road

Opel is sounding in the festive season with the new Opel Mokka GSE. Thanks to V2L – vehicle-to-load – the newcomer not only delights sporty drivers, it also brings Christmas cheer. Due to this technology, no household power socket is needed to charge external devices such as e-bikes or power Christmas lights, the energy required comes directly from the battery of the new Mokka GSE. This is just one of the highlights that make the currently fastest all-electric production Opel and winner of the ‘Golden Steering Wheel 2025’ 1 award stand out.

Elsewhere, the new Opel Mokka GSE – which can already be ordered – delivers real OMG! GSE moments. It brings the motorsport feeling of the new Opel Mokka GSE Rally into everyday automotive life. With 207 kW (281 hp), the newcomer is just as powerful as its rally counterpart. And with the immediate torque of 345 Newton meters, it accelerates just as uncompromisingly completing the dash from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. With a top speed of 200 km/h, it is currently the fastest all-electric production Opel. The sophisticated technology, which was also inspired by the rally car, contributes to the exceptional performance. For example, Opel Mokka GSE has a Torsen limited-slip differential as well as a chassis with specially designed axles and new hydraulic shock absorbers.

With these electrifying prospects, Opel wishes all its customers, their families and friends of the brand a merry Christmas and a healthy, happy and successful start to the New Year – looking forward to many more shared OMG! GSE moments!

Best Wishes from Opel for Happy Holidays and a Healthy 2021

  • Well-deserved break: Relax and re-charge over Christmas
  • Major event: In Q1 Groupe PSA and FCA will merge to form Stellantis
  • Hot wheels: In 2021 Opel Combo, Combo Life, Movano and Astra will also go electric
  • Congratulations: Classic models from Opel Kadett to Frontera celebrate important anniversaries in the new year

Best wishes from Opel for a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and a successful and healthy 2021. It's worth looking ahead, because the coming year will bring new electrified models from Rüsselsheim, major anniversaries and a new parent company for the brand with the Blitz.

Merger of Groupe PSA and FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive) to form Stellantis is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2021. Opel will be the only German brand in this global group – with bold and pure design, low-emission powertrains and innovative technologies. So Opel will continue to make good on its word to democratise state-of-the-art mobility. This has a long tradition. Opel has been building cars since 1899 and has made millions of people independent and mobile. Along the way many icons have been created, some of which will celebrate major anniversaries in the coming year: the Kadett will turn 85, Olympia and Kapitän 70, the Opel Rekord D 50 and SUV pioneer Frontera 30 – technology carriers, trendsetters, milestones of the automotive industry.

German manufacturer will also continue its electrification offensive unabated in 2021, when the Opel Combo, Combo Life and new Movano will join the brand's electric models. And the new Astra will also debut as an electrified version. This means that Opel will already have nine electric vehicles in its portfolio in 2021. By 2024, the Rüsselsheim-based company will also offer an electrified version of all models and take a leading role in terms of efforts to lower CO2 emissions.

“New Oel Mokka, next generation Astra– there are many good reasons to look forward to 2021. Excellent technology, electrification, an outstanding and unique design plus top equipment: that's what our new cars stand for and what our customers can look forward to. We meet the strict CO2 targets with our models. That is extremely important, because CO2 is the new currency,” explains Opel CEO, Michael Lohscheller.

Meanwhile, the brand's internationalisation offensive is in full swing. Opel is returning to important markets such as Japan. Currently, the carmaker is opening up new sales channels in South America. Business is already going very well in North Africa and the Middle East. The brand also returned to the Russian market about one year ago.

Corporate PACE! plan of 2017 stated that “Opel will become electric, Opel will become global and Opel will become sustainably profitable”. Company is delivering on all these promises and will continue to steadfastly pursue its strategy in the New Year.

New Opel Corsa-e Keeps The Lights On at Christmas

  • New 1:43 scale models: Opel Corsa and Opel Corsa-e as collectors’ items
  • Made by Minichamps: to order in January for €29.90 in Germany

Once upon a time, Santa and the elves retired the reindeer and opted for a new Opel Corsa-e instead. State-of-charge of the lithium-ion battery was sufficient to keep the lights on the Christmas tree twinkling, as well as power the delivery of presents!

Santa’s Corsa might be exclusively reserved for urgent business over the next few weeks, but collectors can take delivery of their own new Opel Corsa or Opel Corsa-e very soon – as a die-cast model, made by Minichamps. Order bank will open in January 2020, at an attractive of €29.90 (RRP including VAT in Germany).

In their transparent display boxes, the 1:43 scale models in “Summit White” (Opel Corsa) or “Power Orange” (Opel Corsa-e) look magic on any shelf or table. Opel’s model car expert, Dirk Hannig, and the specialists from Minichamps pored over every detail during the creation of the mini versions. Just like the real car, the roof and outer mirrors are glossy black. Behind the delicate wheels (which share the original’s “BiColor” design) the brake calipers are clearly visible. Tiny reproductions of Opel’s lightning flash logo proudly adorn the front grille and rear hatch. Even the interior features miniature versions of the actual comfortable seats.

Such devotion to detail requires careful planning. Each eye-catching model consists of around 80 parts, which are produced with 50 different tools. Development process from first 3D data to finished product lasts more than 12 months. Precision tools alone take four months to make. At the end of the process emerge highly detailed mini replicas of the new Opel Corsa and Opel Corsa-e.

Christmastime with the new Opel Ampera-e: Simply electrifying !

More than 500 kilometers of purely electric range for a truly super-silent night.

Father Christmas has no doubt,

The Ampera-e is worth a shout.

Convinced by its breathtaking electric range

He feels it’s time to make a significant change

From reindeer, sleigh bells and ho ho ho,

To electric power gliding through the snow.

With the seats flipped down there is plenty of space

To pack all the presents for the yearly race.

And when all is done, he can scream with delight,

Donner and Blitzen, I had a great night!

Opel and Riwal888 wishes you a merry Christmas.

!NEW! Opel Wishes a Wonderful Christmas Time

And the Opel ADAM ROCKS is ready to distribute the St. Nicholas presents

Little helper: Opel ADAM ROCKS is ready to distribute the St. Nicholas presents

Open up the canvas roof, let the presents fall,

No matter what your gender is, giving not taking is all.

The ADAM ROCKS is anything but cute and always eager to go,

In sun, rain or hail or even the winter snow.

A snowstorm or a blizzard cannot get in your way,

Because the swing top can close at the push of a button hooray.

He is stylish and colorful but unfortunately cannot rhyme,

the entire Opel team wishes you a great Christmas time.

!NEW! It’s All About the Angle: Opel ADAM is Unique in Every Size

  • Greetings from Santa Claus: Opel ADAM picks up gifts for the New Year at North Pole
  • Infinite variety: Opel ADAM with more variants, colors and decors in 2014
  • Individuality: Now with 16 body colors (+5!) and 6 roof colors (+4!)
  • Exceptional perspective: Photo project with miniature Opel ADAM in natural surroundings

  • Opel ADAM is perfect car for Santa Claus – bright red body with a snow-white roof

The Opel ADAM has made its way to the North Pole. Because as Santa Claus’ red-white snowmobile, it should of course bring lots of gifts. These include five new, fresh body colors for the ADAM and four new roof colors, a host of smart colored design highlights and three new seat fabrics that all give the chic urban car even more individuality. With all this, it is now possible to choose from 16 body colors and six different roof colors to combine.

Photographer Axel Wierdemann preparing Santa Claus diorama with Opel ADAM in 1:43 scale

But the Opel ADAM doesn’t only cut a fine figure in original size – in miniature format it also inspires creativity. This landed the 1:43 scale model car of the successful Opel newcomer squarely in front of the camera. With a unique photo project, photographer Axel Wierdemann from Wiesbaden turned the micro  Opel ADAM into a big star. In a unique and creative approach he photographed the Opel ADAM in the most popular toy format, together with small characters of the same scale – but rather than in a studio, this happened near the ADAM’s home, outside in its natural stomping grounds. The idea was to use the most trivial reality, play with the location, the car and the characters, and prefer any mechanical trick to photoshop solutions to imagine ADAM’s life.

Opel ADAM 2014: Even more colorful and individual in second year

The Opel ADAM shows just how unique and amazing it is in original size, now offering even more customization possibilities. Opel ADAM customers can now choose between 16 body colors – that can be used for both body and roof – and six exclusive roof colors that can be combined with these according to one’s taste. A new, elegant silver color (called “Silverwalker”), a rich dark brown (“M. Darkside”), a vibrant blue (“Let it Blue”), an audacious lime green (“Dancing Green”) and a subtle warm grey (“Pink-Kong”) are introduced as body colors; three of them (dark brown, lime green and vibrant blue) are also available now as exclusive roof colors.

In addition, three new seat fabrics, three new interior decors and two new interior colors, one new headliner, two new interior mirror colors and three new exterior mirror cap decors as well as one new logo bar color and two new sets of exterior decals further enrich Opel ADAM’s individualization possibilities. So the Opel ADAM is even more stylish and colorful as it drives into its second year of sales, further strengthening and reinforcing its role as the fashionable individualization champion.

In addition, the two special models Opel ADAM Black Link and ADAM White Link not only offer very special black-white smartphone design with aluminum accents, but also the clever, award-winning IntelliLink infotainment system and Siri Eyes Free support as standard, all for prices starting at 16,190 euros (RRP incl. VAT in Germany).

Photo adventures in front of the door for micro Opel ADAM

A nighttime joyride: Berry red, Yellow and Blue – the Opel ADAM models drive past the Wiesbaden main station in the moonlight. But what looks like moonlight is really a flashlight.

The boundaries between reality and the world of model cars are expertly blurred. Here focus is on the small Opel ADAM in 1:43 scale, where the Rhine river or Wiesbaden main station provide the scenery. The aim of Axel Wierdemann’s photo project with ADAM as its leading actor was to create a new world of images while keeping the model as real and authentic as possible. Wierdemann photographed conventional miniature vehicles and figures up close and with long exposure time, intensively playing with rather simple, but clever lighting effects. Small everyday items were channeled into completely different objects. For example, a popsicle stick turned into a diving board, and cinema tickets were rolled out to create the perfect red carpet in front of an impressive backdrop. The pictures give the impression of having been shot during different seasons in different countries, but actually they were all shot on the photographer’s home turf in the Rhine-Main region, very near Opel headquarters in Rüsselsheim. Does that sound too abstract? Just click through our ADAM world of wonders photos – one thing is guaranteed: the Opel ADAM will amaze you in miniature format too!

Catwalk of the stars: “Spotlight on, camera rolling” is the motto when stars walk down the red carpet with the beautifully illuminated Theodor-Heuss-Bridge over the Rhine river connecting Mainz and Wiesbaden in the background. In the middle of the glamorous event come the stars in their sophisticated, stylish Opel ADAM.
