The exciting atmosphere generated by Opel Arena’s fan zone promises to be a further IAA highlight, with Opel’s activities in soccer and motorsport to be showcased daily. Players from German football clubs Borussia Dortmund (Sept 15), Mainz 05 (Sept 17) and many more will be on site, as well as motorsport legend and Opel brand ambassador Joachim “Jockel” Winkelhock (Sept 12 and 14). Lovelyn, winner of this year’s “Germany’s Next Top Model” TV show, will add even more glamor to the stand on Sept 21. When the stars are in the spotlight, meeting visitors and signing autographs, the Opel fan zone LED displays will show information about them and other special guests due on the stand. The Opel fan zone allows visitors to get up close and personal with Opel and its brand ambassadors, while also enabling a closer look at Opel’s own sporting models. The new Insignia OPC, Astra OPC and Corsa OPC Nürburgring Edition are in the starting blocks, as is – last but not least – the rallye version of the chic Opel ADAM.
Visitors are also welcome to take a seat inside the display vehicles – or to learn more about details on the new Insignia’s revolutionary infotainment system, or become captivated by its materials, trim and much more in the artistically designed Insignia lobby. Just as unconventional and colorful as the individualization champion ADAM is the entire ADAM area on the Opel stand.
Behind the scenes: Huge effort to create exciting stadium atmosphere
To suitably illuminate all the attractions, 1,300 lights and spotlights will be deployed in the Media Arena, together with projections, videos and interactive information on LED and LCD screens in a cinema-size format. A total of 14,000 meters of cable and 40 tons of steel are being used and a team of over 150 technicians, working round the clock for nine days, will ensure everything is up and running in time for the trade show opening. Visitors will be enraptured by the unique stadium atmosphere created. So from September 12 it is: Welcome to the IAA, welcome to the Opel stand, and welcome to the Opel Media Arena!
