Next steps in internationalization of the Opel brand
In Australia the initial model range consists of Corsa, Astra and
Insignia. Opel competes in the light, small and medium market segments
which account for around 80 per cent of Australian passenger car sales.
Opel sales will be handled initially by 17 dealerships, with sites in
every capital city of every state. The dealers selected include some of
Australia’s most successful and well regarded dealers. Their
significant investment in unique Opel facilities is a testament to the
potential they ascribe to the brand in Australia.
Opel also recently entered the growing market for passenger cars in Chile. The model range for this South American country currently consists of Corsa, Meriva, Astra and Insignia, offering an attractive range of body styles, powertrains and specifications.
German cars enjoy an excellent reputation among Australian and
Chilean customers. Their market share in both countries has risen
steadily in recent years, and Opel uses its advertising slogan, "Wir
leben Autos", to underline the brand's German heritage and tradition of
German engineering.
Sales in Israel began successfully last year. Opel will continue to expand in China, North Africa, the Middle East, Russia and Turkey.
Sales of Opel passenger cars begun in Chile. The first Chilean Opel dealership opened its doors on Avenida Las Condes, on La Dehesa neighborhood, an exclusive area in Chile's capital, Santiago. Decked out in Opel's black and yellow color scheme, the new Opel dealer, Coseche S.A. is immediately recognizable. |
