!NEW! True Eco-Champion: New Opel Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX with only 82 g/km CO2

  • Frugal: 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX only uses 3.1 l/100 km, efficiency class A+
  • Comfortable: Easytronic 3.0 with outstanding fuel efficiency and smooth gear shifts
  • Exemplary: New Opel Corsa most economical diesel on the market
Exemplary: New Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX most economic Opel on the market
The new Opel Corsa E is not only extremely good looking, it is also a real fuel saving champion. The three-door 70 kW/95 hp 1.3 CDTI ecoFlex with Start/Stop technology fitted as standard, braking energy recuperation and low-rolling-resistance tires combined with the new Easytronic 3.0 transmission can reduce CO2 emissions to 82 grams per kilometer. Fuel consumption is down to exemplary 3.1 liters per 100 kilometers for the combined cycle making the new Corsa the most economical Opel presently on the market and the most economical diesel available. The eco-champion will be available for in Germany from March.

“Our automated five-speed manual transmission in the new Corsa is a real highlight for price-conscious customers who do not want to miss the comfort of an automatic,” said Peter Christian Küspert, Vice President Sales & Aftersales Opel Group. “When combined with the frugal diesel the small car becomes an efficiency giant. Therefore, it is perfect for both short urban shopping trips and longer journeys.”

Economical: Standard consumption of only 3.1 l/100 km with 82g/km CO2

Frugal: Opel ECOTEC 1.3 CDTI four-cylinder only uses 3.1 l/100 km, efficiency class A+
The fundamentally revamped diesel engine with 70 kW/ 95 hp and maximum torque of 190 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm in combination with a latest generation turbocharger allows for superior drive and acceleration even at low revs while simultaneously being extremely quiet. A water pump, operational when required, and a variable oil pump contribute to the exemplary consumption and CO2 values. Furthermore, the specially developed low-rolling-resistance tires and the Opel braking energy recuperation system also play an important part. With these innovations the three-door Corsa with the new Easytronic 3.0 transmission only uses 3.1 liter per 100 kilometers and emits a mere 82 grams of CO2 per kilometer, three grams less than with a manual five-speed gearbox (according to regulation [EC] No. 715/2007), thus seeing it qualify for efficiency class A+.

Easytronic 3.0: Huge comfort – small consumption

The five-speed Easytronic 3.0 weighs less and has lower internal friction than a conventional automatic transmission. It combines the advantages of a comfortable automatic transmission with the efficiency of a manual transmission. Easytronic 3.0 automatically selects the most fuel-efficient gear based on a manual transmission optimized for smaller engines and enables economical driving. The automated transmission is combined with Start/Stop technology that reduces fuel consumption even further especially in urban areas.

Comfortable: Easytronic 3.0 with outstanding fuel efficiency and smooth gear shifts
The Opel engineers developed a special gearwheel set for the automated transmission. The wide gear ratio spread of the five-gear wheel set reduces engine running speed, for example during highway travel, to a pleasant noise level. Furthermore, Easytronic 3.0 also offers a ‘creep’ mode similar to that of an automatic transmission for slow maneuvers. The transmission has a special start function for rapid starts and sporty acceleration.

Reduces fuel consumption: The Easytronic 3.0 automated gearbox
The latest generation of Easytronic impresses with reduced reaction times enabling quicker and smoother gear shifts. This optimization was made possible by a new actuator along with improved sensor and control technology and by the completely revamped manual base gearbox. In addition to automatic mode with an electro-hydraulic actuator taking over shifting and clutching operations, Easytronic 3.0 also offers manual gear shifting via push and pull operation of the gearshift.
