All-New Buick Regal Debuts at Auto Shanghai 2017

The all-new Buick Regal made its Asian debut today at Auto Shanghai 2017. It provides a sleek, sporty, coupe-like design plus the spirited performance of a premium sports sedan and unexpected versatility in one sophisticated package for a perfect balance of form and function.

All-New Buick Regal

The Regal was originally introduced in the United States in 1973 and China in 2002. It has become popular among younger car buyers due to its styling and high-tech features. Last year, Regal deliveries in China exceeded 71,000 vehicles.

Drawing design inspiration from the Buick Avista concept, the all-new Regal has a wing-shaped grille that is complemented by wing-shaped dual LED daytime running lamps for a strong horizontal visual effect. Its second-generation Matrix Full-LED headlights give the new model a high-tech feel.

The wheelbase of the all-new Buick Regal has been extended 92 mm from the previous generation to 2,829 mm, while its wind drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.26. Providing a longer, lower center of gravity and coupe-like design, the model combines the spirited performance of a coupe with the generous stance of a premium sedan, setting a new trend for the segment.

As one of Buick's key global models, the all-new Regal will be offered in three variants with two powertrain options.

The 28T and 20T variants come standard with a nine-speed Hydra-Matic intelligent transmission. The transmission has a compact, efficient design along with a wider gear ratio range, optimizing fuel economy and significantly reducing engine noise while cruising. The transmission also delivers smoother, quicker gear shifting and acceleration in combination with two intelligent direct-injection turbocharged engines: GM's new-generation 1.5T SIDI small-displacement engine and its high-performance 2.0T SIDI engine, which has been named one of Ward's 10 Best Engines.

The upcoming all-new Buick Regal 30H variant will adopt GM's latest electrification technology.

!NEW! Athletic And Adventurous SUV: New Opel Grandland X

  • Totally on trend: New dynamic compact SUV for booming market
  • Totally chic: Stylish Opel with sporty lines and crisp proportions
  • Totally spacious: Lots of room for adventurous passengers and their luggage
  • Totally in control: Grip Control for top traction on every surface
  • Totally aware: Automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, drowsiness alert
  • Totally bright: Adaptive AFL lighting system with Full LED headlamps
  • Totally familiar: After Mokka X and Crossland X, third member of Opel X family

New Opel Grandland X

This is where a sporty character meets the spirit of adventure: modern, dynamic lines, a cool off-road look and the elevated seating position with good all-round visibility typical of an SUV. This is the new Opel Grandland X – with a host of top technologies on board and plenty of space for up to five adventurous passengers, their luggage and sport equipment. These qualities make the Opel a new contender in the booming SUV segment. In the compact class alone, the SUV share has increased from seven percent in 2010 to nearly 20 percent today. The 4.48 meter-long Grandland X’s athletic look boasts crisp exterior dimensions with its taut muscles and short overhangs. And with optional two-color finish, the compact SUV shows its very own style. The Opel Grandland X makes its world premiere at this year’s IAA (International Motor Show) in Frankfurt (September 14 – 24, 2017).

Ideally equipped and well positioned, the new Grandland X comes to market in the fall as the third member of the Opel X family. It joins its Opel Crossland X and bestseller Opel Mokka X siblings, which both are some 20 centimeters shorter in length. At the same time, the Grandland X expands the extensive Opel portfolio in the very popular compact car segment from Astra to Zafira.

“A stylish newcomer is ready to attack in the booming compact SUV segment – and that is our new Opel Grandland X. Its name stands for adventure, independence and abundance. With its sporty design, the Grandland X looks fantastic and will ensure that new customers get excited about the Opel brand. Beyond the characteristic SUV qualities, it also has a host of top technologies that make it safe and fun at the same time. With the Grandland X, Opel is bringing onto the market a cool SUV with a strong ‘I want it’ factor,” says Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann.

The portfolio of ultra-modern assistance and comfort features for the Grandland X is first class: Adaptive Cruise Control with pedestrian detection and Automatic Emergency Braking, Driver Drowsiness Alert, Advanced Park Assist and the 360° Camera are just some highlights. AGR-certified ergonomic seats (Campaign for Healthier Backs), heated steering wheel, seat heating front and rear and the tailgate that opens with a simple foot movement ensure top comfort. In typical Opel fashion, Grandland X drivers and passengers enjoy top connectivity with the latest generation of IntelliLink systems and the personal connectivity and service assistant Opel OnStar, which now includes new services such as booking hotel rooms1 and searching for parking2. Smartphones can even be charged wirelessly via inductive charging. Opel again delivers on its commitment to leadership in lighting technology, equipping the Grandland X with bright driving light thanks to Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) LED headlamps. Functions such as cornering light, high beam assist and auto levelling guarantee optimal illumination of the road ahead, ensuring plenty of driving fun even in the dark.

Opel Grandland X offers one thing above all: safe driving fun all year round and on every surface. This is also thanks to the optional electronic Grip Control that, especially with M&S tires, ensures top traction in diverse driving situations. The driver has a choice of five driving modes. The system then adapts the torque distribution to the front wheels, allow wheel-spin if necessary, and with the automatic transmission adjusts shift points as well as throttle response. This ensures best traction and stable handling regardless of whether the Grandland X is travelling on snow, mud, sand or wet surfaces.

Sharp design with fine details: How elegant an SUV can look

At 4,477 millimeters long, 1,844 millimeters wide and 1,636 millimeters high, the new Opel Grandland X is a cool, robust SUV from every perspective of its sporty presence. In the front above the skidplate the bold grille proudly displays the Opel Blitz. The chrome winglets embrace the brand logo and flow outwards to the slim, double-wing LED headlamps, optically widening the front and giving the Grandland X a powerful, solid stance. The hood features the signature Opel crease – an expression of the Opel design philosophy ‘Sculptural Artistry meets German Precision’.

Its side views echo the attractive combination of rugged SUV charm and elegant lines.  Muscular, sculpted wheel arches and protective cladding on the lower body give the Grandland X real off-road appeal. In contrast, clear lines and the refined blade on the lower doors identify the new Grandland X as a member of the Opel family. Optional two-tone finish with the roof in contrasting black adds an extra touch of personalization. Its smooth flow into the rest of the body is emphasized by the “breakthrough” C pillar, which also creates a dynamic bond to the rear. The rear view of the Grandland X shows down to the smallest detail what real SUV design means: wide stance, silver underride protection with integrated tailpipes on the left and right, and above that protective cladding and slim LED taillights underline the newcomer’s sporty, muscular character.

“The new Grandland X is a modern SUV with an exceptional presence and a bold design that looks compact, sporty and muscular. We have further refined our Opel design philosophy to create an SUV which blends sportiness and elegance to make it an absolute eye-catcher in its segment,” said Vice President Design Mark Adams.

Opel Grandland X radiates the same quality in the interior: the instrument panel and center stack with touchscreen are clearly laid out and horizontally aligned to the driver. The center stack has three horizontal rows of controls for fast and intuitive access to infotainment, climate control and chassis functions. The interior surfaces feature high-class haptics, giving the driver and passengers a feeling of well-being and comfort in all seats. They benefit from the SUV-typical elevated seating position that eases ingress/egress and ensures good visibility. Its long wheelbase of 2,675 millimeters also ensures that the compact class SUV has plenty of space for up to five people. And the luggage compartment with a load volume from 514 to a maximum of 1,652 liters offers generous room for luggage and sport equipment. With all these features, the Opel Grandland X can compete with even the most spacious compact class station wagons.

All-New Opel / Vauxhall  Crossland X SUV

Vauxhall has today released the first images of the all-new Grandland X SUV, the third member of its ‘X’ family, which receives its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

With a sporty design and off-road looks, the Grandland X has elevated seating for five people, generous luggage space, good all-round visibility and a raft of safety technologies. At 4.48 metres long, it will be the largest SUV in Vauxhall’s range, offering even more cabin space than the 20 centimetre-shorter Mokka X and Crossland X.

LIGHTING, COMFORT AND DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

The Grandland X offers a selection of ultra-modern assistance and comfort features. Adaptive Cruise Control with pedestrian detection and Automatic Emergency Braking, Driver Drowsiness Alert, and Advanced Park Assist are just some highlights.

AGR-certified premium ergonomic front seats, heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats and smart tailgate, that opens with a kick, all ensure driver and passenger comfort.

Grandland X drivers and passengers can enjoy outstanding connectivity that is now typical across the Vauxhall range, with the latest generation of IntelliLink systems and the personal connectivity and service assistant Vauxhall OnStar, which now includes new services such as hotel booking and parking space search. Smartphones can easily be integrated to the infotainment system and charged wirelessly via inductive charging on handsets with this function.

Vauxhall continues to deliver on its commitment to lead in lighting technology, equipping the Grandland X with the innovative Adaptive Forward Lighting LED headlamps. Functions such as cornering light, high beam assist and auto levelling guarantee optimal illumination of the road ahead.

The Grandland X offers safe driving fun on every surface, thanks to the optional electronic Grip Control that ensures traction in diverse driving situations. The driver has a choice of five driving modes, for each one the system adapts the torque distribution to the front wheels, allows wheel-spin if necessary, and, with the automatic transmission, adjusts shift points as well as throttle response. This ensures traction and stable handling regardless of the road surface.

DESIGN

At 4,477mm long, 1,844mm wide and 1,636mm high, the new Vauxhall Grandland X is a robust SUV from every perspective. Above the front skid plate, the bold grille proudly displays the Vauxhall Griffin.

The chrome winglets embrace the brand logo and flow outwards to the slim, double-wing LED headlamps, visually widening the front and giving the Grandland X a powerful, solid stance. The bonnet features the signature Vauxhall crease – an expression of the Vauxhall design philosophy of sculptural artistry and technical precision.

The side profile echoes the attractive combination of rugged SUV charm and elegant lines.  Muscular, sculpted wheel arches and protective cladding on the lower body give the Grandland X real off-road appeal. In contrast, clear lines and the refined blade on the lower doors identify the new Grandland X as a member of the Vauxhall family. The optional two-tone finish, with the roof in contrasting black, adds an extra touch of personalisation.

The smooth flow into the rest of the body is emphasised by the “breakthrough” C-pillar, which creates a dynamic bond to the rear. The rear view of the Grandland X shows what real SUV design means, with a wide stance, silver underside protection with integrated tailpipes on the left and right, protective cladding, and slim LED taillights, underlining the newcomer’s sporty, muscular character.

The Grandland X has the same quality on the inside: the instrument panel and centre console with touchscreen are clearly laid out and horizontally aligned to the driver. The centre stack has three horizontal rows of controls for fast and intuitive access to infotainment, climate control and chassis functions.

Drivers and passengers benefit from the elevated seating position typical of an SUV, which ensures good visibility in all situations. Its long wheelbase of 2,675mm means the compact class SUV has plenty of space for up to five people, while the luggage compartment (with a load volume from 514 litres to a maximum of 1,652 litres) offers generous room for luggage and sport equipment.

Debuting with the 2018 Buick Enclave, the new Avenir sub-brand represents the highest expression of Buick luxury. Avenir offers unique styling cues and an extensive set of standard features and premium materials throughout the vehicle. New and versatile functionality, interior spaciousness, and intuitive technologies build on the Enclave’s established popularity.

Smart innovation and style come standard on the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir. A Rear Camera Mirror provides a clearer, broader view of what’s behind. And in-vehicle ionization leaves the air cleaner and fresher. It’s all packaged within an elegant design that combines concept car inspiration with improved interior luxury amenities and roominess for up to seven passengers.

“The Enclave has been a successful formula for the Buick brand, with sales results that have defied traditional product cycles, and 90 percent of customers purchasing in the top two trim levels,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “It’s a beacon for the modern, attainable luxury Buick stands for and is a natural place to launch Avenir.”

  • Standard five-link rear suspension and available continuously variable real-time damping (CDC) offer a refined, isolated ride.
  • Available intelligent AWD with active twin-clutch rear differential and Buick-first switchable AWD help improve control and efficiency.

Avenir: Buick’s highest expression of exclusive style, inclusive luxury

2018 Buick Enclave Avenir - Interior
All Avenir models will feature an exclusive 3-dimensional mesh grille paired with chrome wings inspired by Buick concept cars. Additional Enclave Avenir notable styling cues include 20-inch, six-spoke wheels with a pearl nickel finish; five premium exterior colors; an Avenir Chestnut and Ebony interior with piping on the seats and contrasting stitching; embroidered first-row headrests; Avenir floor-mats; a wood-accented steering wheel; and bold Avenir-scripted sill plates on all four doors.

A wide array of advanced technologies and interior features emphasizing premium comfort and inclusive luxury comes standard in the Enclave Avenir, including heated and ventilated front seats; heated second-row seats; navigation; wireless charging; a dual moonroof; an 8-inch diagonal reconfigurable cluster display; a 360-degree surround vision camera system for easier parking; and a rear camera mirror that can function as a traditional mirror or as a camera, eliminating obstructions such as heads and headrests while expanding the rear field of vision by an estimated 300 percent.

Available adaptive cruise control and full speed Forward Automatic Braking offer customers even more safety feature options, and a premium suspension with continuously variable real-time damping (CDC) provides a smooth, comfortable ride, with enhanced body control and handling in Sport mode.

“This is a vehicle intended for Buick customers who demand the best and the latest our brand has to offer,” said Aldred.

Elegant design and functionality define the all-new Buick Enclave

The Enclave’s new design architecture enables a balanced, athletic appearance. New proportions give it a sleeker look with aerodynamic benefits for efficiency. The roofline is lower, the windshield is sharper and the wheelbase is extended, giving the vehicle a more dramatic stance. Its sculpted body creates a windswept appearance. Its interior is inviting and harmonious.

Extensive use of LEDs is integrated into Buick’s first application of Evonik Acrylite technology and bi-functional LED projector headlamps and LED tail lamps. The technology’s compound curvature application creates a smooth, uniform and recognizable appearance that will make the Enclave stand out on the road. IntelliBeam headlamps also allow drivers to experience better road illumination and improved visibility without having to manually switch the high beams on and off.

A significantly enhanced suite of available advanced safety technologies is engineered to help drivers monitor their surroundings and feel confident when behind the wheel. Standard safety equipment on all 2018 Enclaves includes a rear vision camera, rear park assist and seven air bags, including a front center side airbag. Among the available crash-avoidance technologies are rear cross traffic alert, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, safety alert seat and surround vision.

Having leveraged the first-generation Enclave as a benchmark for quietness, the 2018 Enclave cabin is engineered to further minimize unwanted interior noise through its honed exterior shapes, sealing and sound-deadening acoustics and strategic use of materials throughout. QuietTuning and active noise cancellation enhancements help to reduce, block and absorb noise, keeping it from entering the cabin. A 10-speaker Bose Premium sound system with new components, new tuning and a redesigned bass enclosure further enhances the sound experience.

Another lifestyle-enhancing feature in the Enclave interior is an air ionizer that eliminates odors and provides higher air quality. It works by producing negatively charged particles that attract air-borne contaminants and break down their structure, cleaning the cabin air. The ionizer can help address external and internal odors and reduce bacteria, viruses, dust, debris and pollen, while also helping improve driver alertness. It requires no maintenance or filter replacement.

Enclave’s interior has flexible cargo solutions for large and small items. The vehicle has 10 percent more cubic feet of overall interior space when including the hidden underfloor storage, and 23.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. Other space enhancements include a 10-inch-deep dry underfloor storage with 3.1 cubic feet of space.

Second- and third-row seating fold flat to create a wide, nearly-flat load floor. A power-folding third row makes reconfiguring more convenient, while second-row SmartSlide Seats provide easy access to the third row. On the passenger side, the SmartSlide seat provides pitch slide functionality to allow access even with an empty forward-facing child seat installed (using the LATCH system).

Additional standard equipment on every 2018 Enclave includes keyless entry and push-button start, a hands-free power-programmable liftgate with a Buick tri-shield logo illuminating the ground below the hidden sensor, tri-zone automatic climate control, universal home remote and more.

Every Enclave also comes equipped with an OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot (AT&T data plan purchase required after limited data trial period) and five years of the OnStar Basic Plan [1] at no additional cost. Among other benefits like an industry-leading myBuick app, this connectivity plan features OnStar Smart Driver, an opt-in service designed to help Buick owners maximize their vehicle’s overall performance and become better drivers.

A frameless 8-inch diagonal infotainment system with Teen Driver, Rear Seat Reminder [2], and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is standard. Every Enclave features Rear Seat Reminder2, an industry-first feature designed to remind drivers to check the back seat as they exit their vehicles under certain circumstances.

The Buick Enclave will continue to be manufactured in Lansing, Michigan, and goes on sale in the fall of 2017. Pricing and other details will be announced later this year.

Buick is positioned to carry its momentum through 2017 and beyond. By the end of the decade, the brand will launch at least a dozen new or updated models globally, not including models from the Avenir luxury sub-brand. The 2018 Enclave is the seventh new Buick model introduced in less than two years.

[1] OnStar Basic Plan is available for five years from the delivery date of eligible 2015 model year and newer vehicles and is transferable. Basic Plan does not include Emergency, Security or Navigation services; these and other services require a paid plan. Visit OnStar.com for details.

[2] Does not detect people or items. Always check rear seat before exiting.

!NEW! Opel Flagship with Offroad Appeal: New Insignia Country Tourer

  • For adventurers: Sporty top-of-the-range Insignia with rugged look
  • For all terrains: All-wheel drive with torque vectoring, 20 mm more ground clearance
  • For the highest demands: Outstanding technologies, new Opel OnStar services
  • For every taste: Opel Exclusive enables unlimited choice of colors
  • For the IAA: World premiere in Frankfurt this September at dealers shortly after

For adventurers: Opel Insignia Country Tourer with rugged look and premium qualities.
The new top-of-the-range Opel models, the Insignia Grand Sport and the Insignia Sports Tourer have only just celebrated their world premieres in Geneva – but the dream duo is already set to become a triumphant trio. Just as for the previous generation, the Insignia will be available as an adventurer with all-wheel drive and offroad appeal. Its name: The new Opel Insignia Country Tourer. Available to order from June, it will celebrate its premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA, September 14 to 24) and will be at dealers shortly afterwards. The all-rounder is the ideal choice for fans of winter sports and the countryside but also for everybody who appreciates a very individual impression.

All-terrain Insignia: All-wheel drive with torque vectoring and 20 millimeter more ground clearance.
The new Opel Insignia Country Tourer impresses with the same virtues as its Grand Sport and Sports Tourer siblings – it is spacious and considerably lighter than the outgoing version thanks an all-new architecture. It also comes with a wide range of innovative technologies, just as a true flagship should. Furthermore, it captivates with its very own country-style charm: all-round black protective cladding and silver front and rear skid plates give the newcomer a rugged offroad appearance. Customers who prefer an even more individual vehicle can also tailor it thanks to the Opel Exclusive concept, which provides an unlimited choice of colors.

Adventure-ready: Leading propulsion and chassis technologies

A broad powertrain portfolio – including a brand new top-of-the-range diesel engine – delivers the performance of the Opel Insignia Country Tourer. In addition, the newcomer will also be available with the new eight-speed automatic transmission and ground-breaking all-wheel drive technology. Twenty millimeters of additional ground clearance along with the innovative all-wheel drive with torque vectoring and the new five-link rear suspension cater for the wish to leave asphalt roads and give the Insignia Country Tourer the most polished system in its class. Instead of a traditional rear differential, which transmits equal amounts of torque to the rear wheels, the Opel Insignia Country Tourer boasts two electrically controlled multi-plates clutches which enable a more individual and precise transmission of power to each wheel – irrespective of road or weather conditions. To counteract the understeer tendency in tight corners taken at higher speeds, the system, depending on the acceleration command and steering movement, sends more torque to the outside rear wheel. This happens without any further driver intervention and in a split second. This stabilizes the vehicle. Furthermore, the Insignia turns in with more precision, responding more spontaneously to inputs from the driver. This results in neutral vehicle behavior, making the car more stable and steerable for the driver no matter what the situation.

The further improved FlexRide chassis provides the basis for optimal, situation-based driving behavior. It adapts the dampers, steering, throttle response and shift points (on automatics) independently or based on the modes ‘Standard’, ‘Sport’ or ‘Tour’ which can be selected by the driver. The new central ‘Drive Mode Control’ software is the heart and soul of the adaptive chassis. It continuously analyzes the information provided by the sensors and settings and recognizes the individual driving style.

“The Country Tourer is the perfect choice for all those who want to combine ultra-modern connectivity and assistance systems along with the roominess of the new Insignia with individual styling and offroad qualities. The adventurous-looking station wagon is the ideal car for all athletes among Insignia fans who simultaneously love a more rugged look,” said Peter Christian Küspert, Opel Vice President Sales & Aftersales.

Robust exterior, spacious interior: Opel Insignia for country fans

The new Insignia Sports Tourer is already in very good shape: It takes the Opel design philosophy to the next level with its sporty yet elegant styling and its breathtaking lines. The all-new lightweight architecture is one of the main reasons behind its feisty and agile performance. The Country Tourer has all of these qualities and more. Its more rugged and individual charm makes it the top-of-the-line variant of the Insignia model range and from the very start of the development process the designers and the engineers worked on a third distinct Insignia variant.

The fascia of the new Opel Insignia Country Tourer looks even more purposeful than that of its Sports Tourer sibling. The prominent landscape grille and slim headlamps offer a wide horizontal impression, whilst the silver colored skid plate helps to pull the car down to underline the solid stance. Molded black protective cladding in the lower fascia, the wheel arches and along the lower body side emphasize the rugged appearance. Just like the front, the rear end also delivers adventurous cues, such as a silver colored skid plate and dual exhaust bezels that reinforce the lower and wider impression.

“We wanted our new Opel Insignia Country Tourer to be robust in every respect while simultaneously displaying the typical elegant Opel philosophy of sculptural artistry and German precision,” said Mark Adams, Vice President Design. “It has the presence of a true flagship, combining a sophisticated athletic shape enhanced by rugged off road detailing.”

Those looking for a truly unique Insignia will soon have an unlimited amount of options at their disposal with Opel looking to launch the Opel Exclusive concept also with the Insignia Country Tourer. Apart from the regular colors buyers can choose from 15 additional colors only available to Exclusive customers. However, that is by no means all.

The Opel Exclusive experts can even reproduce any paint tone desired if provided with a sample or an image. Furthermore, Exclusive customers can personalize their vehicles even further thanks to additional wheel designs and leather interior options.

Matching the character of the rugged all-rounder, the new Opel Insignia Country Tourer is above all extremely practical. In order to make loading as easy as possible, the tailgate can be opened without touching the car. In combination with “Keyless Open & Start” a simple kicking motion under the rear bumper is enough to open the tailgate (a vehicle silhouette projected onto the ground shows the correct area). Another kicking motion under the bumper will close the tailgate. In order to increase loading space to 1,665 liters, 130 liters more than on the outgoing version, the new Insignia Country Tourer comes with optional 40/20/40 foldable rear seats enabling even more flexible loading space configurations. The rear seat bank can be folded down by simply pushing a button located in the luggage compartment. And the standard roof railing not only emphasizes the adventurous look but also increases the application spectrum of the new Insignia Country Tourer allowing the rugged station wagon to carry roof loads of up to 100 kilograms.

Elsewhere, the wheelbase has been elongated by 92 mm, enabling a much more spacious interior that especially benefits the rear passengers. The wellness atmosphere is further underlined by the driver-oriented cockpit, the AGR-certified (Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V.) premium ergonomic front seats and the heated outer rear seats. The heated windshield and the heated steering wheel ensure good visibility and warm hands respectively on cold days.

Outstanding technology on board: Safe, comfortable, superb connectivity

Just like its Opel Grand Sport and Sports Tourer siblings, the Opel Insignia Country Tourer comes with numerous ultra-modern technologies and assistance systems that enable a new level of safety and comfort. One of the highlights in every sense of the word is the second generation of Opel’s innovative and award-winning adaptive IntelliLux LED Matrix light. The Opel LED  Matrix light now has 16 LED segments integrated into each of the very slim headlamps and comes with an innovative active curve lighting function and dedicated LED spotlight with a range of up to 400 meters. !NEW! 2018 Buick Regal TourX Brings Adventure to Every Drive

Rugged utility and upscale amenities are purpose-built for active lifestyles

 All-New Buick Regal TourX
Coming off a historic year with record sales, four new vehicle launches and awards validating Buick’s quality and customer experience, the brand’s introduction of the all-new Buick Regal TourX brings the latest product to broaden the brand’s lineup in the U.S. Like the successful Encore and Cascada, TourX proves Buick continues to make bold moves outside traditional vehicle segments.

2018 Buick Regal TourX
“Buick Regal TourX is a crossover in the truest sense of the word, with the drive dynamics of a car and the versatility of an SUV,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, global Buick and GMC. “Additionally, it continues a trend set by the Cascada and Encore of bringing Buick’s contemporary design and attainable luxury credentials to new segments where customers are looking for more. TourX enters a vibrant segment with passion and youthful energy where drivers are able to experience the new Buick.”

The TourX rides higher than its Sportback counterpart, enabling greater capability. Its rugged exterior appearance, standard roof rails, interior amenities, standard intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) with active twin-clutch and functional cargo area epitomize upscale utility, capability and convenience backed by the quality and safety expected from Buick.

With the new Buick Regal TourX and Sportback, Buick now offers two new products that expand the expectations and opportunity for individuality in the premium midsize segment. One is a sports sedan with sleek, coupe-like design with five-door versatility; the other, a vehicle with the drive dynamics of a car but with all the usefulness of an SUV.

Highlights of Buick Regal TourX:

  • It has more overall cargo space than the Volvo V60 Cross Country, the Audi A4 Allroad, BMW 3-series Sport Wagon and the Subaru Outback, with up to 73.5 cubic feet behind the front seats.
  • Standard intelligent AWD with active twin-clutch provides improved vehicle control and efficiency in any condition.
  • The purpose-built exterior’s ride height increased over the Regal Sportback and it has durable fascia and fender moldings.
  • The hands-free power liftgate has a Buick tri-shield logo lamp that illuminates the ground beneath the sensor, standard on upper trim levels.
  • The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 250 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
  • Customer-minded available accessories including a variable roof rack, portable Bluetooth speaker and keyless keypad entry.
  • An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.
  • Safety innovations include a Buick-first active hood pedestrian safety system, Front Pedestrian Braking and Lane Keep Assist.

Memorable adventures need capable performance, and TourX answers the call with a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine featuring 250 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. That power is routed to the ground via a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and intelligent AWD with active twin-clutch for greater control on any surface. The engine also comes standard with advanced start/stop technology.

Also offered on the Regal Sportback, Envision and LaCrosse, Buick’s innovative new system uses two clutches at the rear wheels for seamless, smart torque distribution. Beneficial not just in snowy weather but also during spirited driving, the system relies less on braking to maintain maximum performance and efficiency.

Compared to the 2018 Buick Regal Sportback, the TourX is 3.4 inches longer, showcasing a confident side profile and a roofline accent piece that arches along the entire length of the roof and D-pillar, eventually culminating in the LED-accented taillights.

Up front, Buick’s winged grille is flanked by standard LED daytime running lights and available LED headlights that are thinner and more landscaped to enhance the low, wide appearance of the front end.

Inside the luxurious cabin, the new Regal’s interior design takes a tailored, driver-centric approach, featuring premium materials and host of modern technologies. Refined materials in the cabin feature clean lines and uncluttered surfaces, all while keeping utility and capability of utmost importance. Folding down the second row gives the Buick¨Regal TourX 73.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity, more than its key competitors, and 32.7 cubic feet in the rear hatch area with seats up.

Every Buick Regal TourX also comes equipped with an OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot (AT&T data plan purchase required after limited data trial period) and five years of the OnStar Basic Plan[1] at no additional cost. Among other benefits like an industry-leading myBuick app, this connectivity plan features OnStar Smart Driver, an opt-in service designed to help Buick owners maximize their vehicle’s overall performance and become better drivers.

A 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is standard on TourX and Preferred trims, while an 8-inch system is standard on the Essence trim with available embedded navigation optional. Bose premium audio with an innovative subwoofer mounted in the spare tire well is also standard with active noise cancellation.

The 2018 Buick Regal TourX offers new levels of crash prevention and protection. Along with the Regal Sportback, it is the first Buick to offer a standard active hood pedestrian safety system that senses the imminent impact of a pedestrian between 16-30 mph and uses a pyrotechnic actuator to lift the back of the hood up about 4 inches to lessen the impact and potentially reduce injury.

A more advanced Driver Confidence II package adds Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Automatic Braking.

The Buick Regal Sportback’s spirited performance comes by way of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine standard producing a GM-estimated 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The power is routed to the front wheels via an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission. An available 295 lb-ft of torque is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission on models with optional intelligent AWD with an active twin-clutch differential. The engine comes standard with advanced start/stop technology.

With the Buick Regal Sportback, Buick continues to establish itself as a leader in all-wheel-drive technology. Also available on the Buick Regal TourX, Envision and LaCrosse, Buick’s innovative new system uses two clutches at the rear wheels for seamless, smart torque distribution. Beneficial not just in snowy weather but also during spirited driving, the system relies less on braking to maintain maximum performance and efficiency.

Buick offers AWD across its entire portfolio, with the exception of the Buick Cascada convertible.

The exterior design of the 2018 Buick Regal Sportback is visually low and tailored, hinting at an advanced body structure that is stiffer, stronger and approximately 200 pounds lighter than the previous generation Regal. Customers will notice this reduction through more athletic handling and improved efficiency. With wheels pushed farther to the corners and a wheelbase stretched more than 3 inches than its predecessor, more expressive proportions are paired with improved passenger space.

!NEW! Ready to Rumble: New Opel KARL ROCKS Now at Dealers

  • Offroad inspired: Raised ride height and rugged body parts for the urban jungle
  • Extrovert: Expressive exterior with clever design tweaks
  • Practical: Trunk space of more than 1,000 liters with seats folded down
  • Economical: LPG variant with NEDC range of more than 1,000 kilometers available ex work

Breath of fresh air: New Opel KARL ROCKS exudes offroad flair with its increased ride height and ground clearance, silver colored skid plates and black protective claddings.

The new Opel KARL ROCKS has arrived at dealers and is ready to dazzle showroom visitors with its trendy outdoor look and feel. The Opel KARL ROCKS bears a strong resemblance to a true offroader and shares many virtues connected with this vehicle class such as an elevated seating position that enables better visibility and easier access to the cabin. Furthermore, the youngest member of the Opel ROCKS family maintains the unquestionable practicality of the Opel KARL with five doors, five seats, compact dimensions and a maximum trunk space of more than 1,000 liters making it the ideal vehicle for a broad audience of city dwellers. Like its slightly less extrovert sibling, the Opel KARL, the newcomer is thus big on everything – except size and price with the entry-level Opel KARL ROCKS available for €12,600 (RRP including VAT in Germany).

At a showroom near you: New Opel KARL ROCKS is ready to dazzle customers at dealers across Europe.

Clever design tweaks set the Opel KARL ROCKS apart from most of its A-segment rivals. The functional silver roof rails, rugged front and rear bumpers with integrated skid pads, front and rear wheelhouse moldings and unique 15-inch bi-color-look alloy wheels blend in perfectly with typical Opel design cues such as the Opel blade that sweeps dynamically up towards the rear. Combined with the sloping roofline this creates a dynamic, sporty appearance that links the Opel KARL ROCKS to the Opel KARL while simultaneously giving it a distinct rugged look.

Nice view: New Opel KARL ROCKS has a distinctive offroad appearance with its protective cladding.

The car’s outgoing personality is further emphasized by an 18-mm increase in ride height enabling enhanced visibility and a better ground clearance. Therefore, Opel KARL ROCKS can also venture off asphalt roads and negotiate uneven surfaces. Furthermore, the 18-mm increase facilitates ingress and egress.

The outdoor character created by the exterior design continues on the inside of the car with front door sill plates and the high gloss frame for the infotainment system The optional Radio R 4.0 IntelliLink system brings the world of smartphones to the Opel KARL ROCKS via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. As of this summer, buyers in search of an integrated navigation system can order the urban rocker with the Navi 4.0 IntelliLink system. The connectivity offering of the Opel KARL ROCKS is rounded off by the availability of the OnStar personal connectivity and service assistant including the new Personal Assistant service. It allows OnStar subscribers to book hotel rooms[1] and search for suitable parking spots[2] via an OnStar Advisor.

However, Opel KARL ROCKS has much more to offer than its enticing looks and stylish interior – it is also just as practical as the Opel KARL. Four doors guarantee easy access to the front and rear seats while the five seats ensure that even families can enjoy Opel’s SUV-inspired mini car. And when needed, the rear seats, with a 40/60 split as standard, can be folded down completely giving the Opel KARL ROCKS an impressive total trunk space of exactly 1,013 liters.

Under the hood, the Opel KARL ROCKS shares the 1.0 liter, three cylinder gasoline engine (NEDC fuel consumption: urban 5.6-5.2 l/100 km, extra-urban 4.2-4.0 l/100 km, combined 4.7-4.4 l/100 km; 106-101 g/km CO2) of its KARL sibling The unit delivers 55 kW/75 hp and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Alternatively, Opel KARL ROCKS buyers can choose the optional Easytronic 3.0 gearbox. The five-speed automated transmission combines the comfort advantages of an automatic transmission with the efficiency of a manual gearbox. It automatically selects the appropriate gear for best possible fuel consumption, but is based on a manual transmission optimized for smaller engines which enables ultra-economical driving. The driver can take manual control of Easytronic 3.0 at any time by pulling or pushing the gear selector lever.
Furthermore, the Opel KARL ROCKS also caters for customers looking for an alternative fuel offering and is available with the 1.0 LPG ecoFLEX ex works (NEDC LPG consumption: urban 7.1 l/100 km, extra-urban 5.2 l/100 km, combined 5.9 l/100 km; 95 g/km CO2; NEDC fuel consumption: urban 5.8 l/100 km, extra-urban 4.1 l/100 km, combined 4.7 l/100 km; 108 g/km CO2). When ordered in this combination, owners can cover a total distance of 1,019 kilometers (in accordance with NEDC) between visits to the filling station thanks to the 32-liter gasoline and the 20-liter LPG tanks.

Elsewhere, Opel’s wild child comes with all of the safety and comfort features available in the regular Opel KARL. City mode reduces steering effort at the push of a button, greatly facilitating maneuvering in heavy city traffic. Park Assist is also available and assists the driver during parking by giving an acoustic warning as the car approaches obstacles when reversing. Cruise control with speed limiter regulates driving speeds, which is extremely helpful in busy urban traffic and in residential areas.
